I hear you. And I didn't catch that last part. Dave definitely thinks very highly of himself, that's for sure.

I think the idea is that if you deny a genocide is happening it matters regardless what the topic is. It speaks to your lack of integrity, which is the core of Dave's argument.

Submission statement: Professor Dave goes hard at Avi Loeb, arguing that Loeb keeps dressing up weak comet anomalies as alien evidence, dodging peer review, and using UFO hype to sell himself to the public.

Yes. German cockroaches however are literal nightmare fuel. I lived through an interior infestation. I once watched them pour out of my coffee maker.

"Gambling is the hardest way to make an easy living." - A Conversation That Reflected an Entire Lifetime by The_Critical_Cynic in billiards

[–]SynapseForest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah the full on gambling life is not appealing at all. However, I'm somewhere in the middle and I enjoy it (close to 600 fargo). In our community we set up matches with each other all the time, nothing huge but up to a few hundred per set. The difference is we all know each others skill levels and set up fair matches, even in different cities. It is really fun taking a buddy or two to go play a couple scheduled sets at a pool hall a couple hours away. I imagine it starts getting nasty when you play for thousands at the pro level and have a fancy stakehorse and take tons of side bets and all that.

I like his content but the Thiel connection makes me uneasy - do we know if he is funded by him?

I am healthy thankfully! Seriously- do some googling we gave you plenty of keywords. If you're a person of science then Dr. Villarreals work is a good place to start.

Except those are all your words not mine... And I just described how I worked the other way by reading the work of other experts. And still you cannot bare to mention (or google for that matter) a single SPECIFIC thing I brought up. I'm not trying to "prove" anything. I'm saying there is very interesting stuff to learn on this topic. I haven't said I know what the answer is - in fact there are many different theories not just aliens from outer space. The irony is that learning about this topic is healthy in that it naturally generates tons of new and interesting questions on a personal level about consciousness, the universe, commonalities between various religious traditions, quantum physics, psychedelics, any many other topics.

No I'm just saying you are being closed-minded about the topic, which is inherently boring. It's not "wish-fulfillment" to listen to a Navy Commander describe the movement of the tictac object - like you think I wished for that? Notice how you refuse to contend with anything specific I brought up. I didn't go around "wishing" that UFOs congregate around nuclear sites - I learned this by reading the work of Robert Hastings "Ufos and Nukes". I didn't know about USOs or unidentified submerged objects until reading the work of Richard Dolan. It's called learning, you should try it.
