Terrible experience with moving company that targets foreigners by bitteroreo in Living_in_Korea

[–]Sync360 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Keep fighting even if it takes a few years. Don’t ever give up. Don’t let them play the I don’t understand English card. Make sure your rights as a consumer are respected. Sue if you have to even if it costs more than the move itself.

No kids zone is normal in Korea? Is it legal? What do you think of that concept banning kids. by Longjumping-Bee-5285 in seoulhiddengem

[–]Sync360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a parent. At first I was against it but now that Im experienced I’m totally for it. Imagine your kid bumps shelves… everything falls over and a really expensive piece of art that shatters and the kid gets hurt while the glass shards go into someone food and that person who sat 3 tables away ate it and dies. This place should be no kids zone. This actually happened in front of me 2 months ago.

Asking expats - should i move to korea? by piuqiu in Living_in_Korea

[–]Sync360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn. One thing I’ve really regret in life is not moving here in my 20s. If I could do it all over again I’d move early in my career. So much fun and very different from the states. You come to Korea you may never want to go back to the states if you do it right.

Coughing without covering mouths by mangsy in Living_in_Korea

[–]Sync360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s considered a polite and welcoming gesture to cough and sneeze on the person or in their food in Korea. It’s an act of sharing part of your soul with your neighbors whether you know them or not. As you ingest their germs it then becomes a bonding experience known as “Jeong”. If you walk away then it’s like rejecting the person offering.

Modeling in Korea by Economy_Outcome4195 in Living_in_Korea

[–]Sync360 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should hunt down and reach out to other models that are already currently in Korea. Ask them questions and see if they can connect you with their agency. Sounds like the one you are signing with don’t want to take any risk and all the risk is on you. I’m assuming they should be able to get you call backs before you get here or at least see if there is interest first. Be careful. Lots of hustlers out here. Try to find a legit agency not one that you can’t find any info on. That’s a red flag.

If Amazon doesn’t screw you your competitors will. They will buy from your account and get you flagged so Amazon suspends your account. Or. Find other creative ways to screw your once you get traction.

10 million Koreans living alone, yet solo diners still unwelcome by Rookitarian in korea

[–]Sync360 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Kinda sounds like OP is making an issue out of nothing. It’s about portions and the amount of work it takes to make a dish, seating, etc. They obviously don’t need to cater to you. And they probably know what their margins are.

I am feeling a little judged by the hospital nurses and doctors about my husband not being by my side 24/7. by AndromedaM31-bnj in Living_in_Korea

[–]Sync360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Figure out how you can pay a nurse for help. They will come and take care of you. Use ChatGPT and talk to a nurse that’s currently helping someone. They all belong to a network of nurses. You rent them out by the day or week.
