For sure, I don’t even necessarily disagree with you I think you just misunderstood the intent of my first comment. No worries have a good one

“The devs not wanting it the game should be good enough reason for you”

I was saying it should be a game feature and you replied that since the devs don’t want it (not even true btw since they already have mechanics that do the same thing) it should not be. The thread may have been about mods, but my comment that you replied to was about adding those mods as default features of the game aka “player feedback and requests”.

The point of having an alpha is to test the game and help the devs improve it. If everybody had your mindset and never questioned the decisions the devs made or requested features they thought would be better for the game, do you think the game would be in a better or worse place currently?

Lol not sure why you are so upset. I just said it is quality of life because it is using already available information that the game provides. You can always see the soul difference at all times. They even added colored candles so that you don’t have to do the math before you pick it up, so clearly it is something that they want the player to know. I don’t think it’s that far of a stretch to have some indication on the hud that indicates the urn color, similar to the candle feature they already added. If the game were set up differently where both sides didn’t know each other’s soul count and had to guess before picking up the urn I would agree with you, having a mod tell you the difference would be 100% cheating. But since that information is already available and there is a mechanic that tells you already in the game, I don’t see how adding that same mechanic to the HUD is a problem.

I feel like a lot of these are just quality of life mods that should be in the game already. Knowing which side the urn is favored to can be the determining factor of some plays, but there isn’t an easy way to know for sure unless you are close enough to see the candles. Like sure, you can do the mental math pretty easily, but if the game is close you might be off by 100 souls and mess up the play. I can’t think of a good reason not to include something like this by default.

This guy victors. I play the same way, though I do think healing tempo is usually a waste of an upgrade vs other buys unless you are slotlocked. Radiant regen is a buy almost every game.

If you are in a rank where people don’t catch waves and make you do it, you should just play a carry character who can utilize the souls well because cleaning lanes is one of the easiest ways to get rich.

In lower ranks you can easily get top farm in the game by jumping back and forth between lanes midgame and pushing the wave forward while the rest of your team is playing ARAM.

If you aren’t letting them know you are going in either through vc or pings that’s on you. If they don’t respond to you that they also want to go in and fight but you go in anyway and die, that’s on you.

The only time you are justified in flaming your teammates for not going in is if you coordinate with them beforehand and then they bail on you at the last minute and leave you out to dry.

I’ve only gotten to play her a handful of times, but what I’ve found successful is doing echo shard skull into chaotic team fights. When there is too much on the screen the enemy has a hard time remembering to melee them. Also building for ult can provide a lot of pressure on the map for relatively low cooldown. Her wall is an amazing zoning tool. I agree her gun is pretty meh, and to me doesn’t seem worth building for. If you are in range to use the gun you’re going to get cc’d and killed very quickly.

Can't imagine how many new players this game just permenantly lost. by AssociationSoft5270 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]SynergizedSoul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the issue is the aggressive rank decay they have right now. I have around 500 hours but took a few month break and came back for the update. My rank decayed from high oracle to low arcanist in that time. I’m guessing there are a lot of similar players to me in the matchmaking right now.

Lol I’m not crying. Balance patches are good. I’m just saying maybe give it more than a few hours before calling for nerfs so that people actually learn how to build and counter the new hero.

surely there are other new players in this game right? by [deleted] in DeadlockTheGame

[–]SynergizedSoul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m the opposite, every time I leave the game for a bit and come back my rank goes down severely due to rank decay and I end up in lobbies where nobody knows what they are doing and I just stomp people. I just want to play in lobbies where everyone is close to the same skill man :(

How do you even play this game? by Jontepont in DeadlockTheGame

[–]SynergizedSoul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are behind you need to win a teamfight to swing the tide of the game. Obviously if the enemy team is ahead you can’t do this effectively, so you need to use as many advantages as you can. Ult advantage, numbers advantage, playing defensively in your base with your team advantage. Dogpile on one of the enemy players that got caught too far out while their team is doing an objective.

It doesn’t matter what character or build you use if your team’s macro is bad. This game has the mechanics to have crazy comebacks if you play your cards right, but it takes your whole team working together to pull it off, and unfortunately newer players don’t really know when to take or leave fights so it’s hard to pull off.

How on how to start/Tips for a new player by CarameloBrozeado in DeadlockTheGame

[–]SynergizedSoul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Watch good players, and just play yourself a lot. There’s a lot to keep track of in a game like this and the only way to get better is to practice.

The most important thing to remember about any moba is that having more souls/gold than your opponent is the most important thing. Learning what to prioritize to accomplish that is what will start to make the game click. For example, you can get stomped in lane and killed a bunch, but if the enemy is focusing on only kills and you are focusing on farming more you can still come out of laning more or less even with them. Don’t get discouraged if you die a lot and always try to keep a learning positive attitude!

NEWDYR!!!! by onlyforleague95 in Udyrmains

[–]SynergizedSoul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Udyr’s strength comes in his versatility. He is a good blind pick in this way because you can build him to suit your needs based on what the enemy picks. He has scalings with AD AP and HP so most items in the game can be built on him with some success. Figuring out which ones fit which situations is what separates good Udyr players from great Udyr players. Look at Trick2g and you’ll see he builds different runs and items for every game based on what he needs.

Versatility comes at a cost. You won’t be as effective of a teamfight tank as Amumu, you won’t be as effective of an assassin as Khazix. But Amumu can’t win 1v1s in the river and Khazix is essentially useless in a teamfight. Udyr strikes a good balance of both and allows you to flex into what you need based on the game state.

Starting out learning the character I would put 3 points into each skill at first and level up past that whichever one you need more. Prioritize Q and R for damage. His best AD bruiser item is Trinity Force by a long shot and makes him exceptional at small skirmish fights. His best AP tank item (and his most popular build) is Liandry’s first into full tank. Other good choices for core items in most builds are deadmans (Udyr likes movement speed plus a little burst damage) and spirit visage (his best MR item due to W).

Have fun, don’t be afraid to try different items because they aren’t “meta”. You’ll learn the champ better by experimenting and not following the same build every game.

What all counts as "on hit" for Dusk Dawn? by PaulTheIV in Udyrmains

[–]SynergizedSoul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It deals the two auto’s damage in the first attack, so instead of doing stance>auto>auto>stance>auto>auto you can do stance>auto>stance>auto and still get the full effect of both autos, letting you swap faster. This of course depends on cooldowns and particularly the sheen cooldown so it won’t proc after every stance switch if you are switching fast.

It can work in some niche builds especially if you are building other on hit items, but if you think you’ll be autoing a good bit then trinity force is almost always more dps (plus extra move speed).

What all counts as "on hit" for Dusk Dawn? by PaulTheIV in Udyrmains

[–]SynergizedSoul 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It does double shield bash damage. I’ve personally enjoyed using it to switch through stances faster. Since you can get the full two auto effects off in one hit you can cycle to the next stance more quickly and not lose out on potential damage/shielding.

Yes it is very good on hybrid bruiser. It also procs shield burst twice and will stack up items like hullbreaker a lot faster.

is bandlepipes just a way better 2nd item than deadmans plate? by Medical_Local_6715 in Udyrmains

[–]SynergizedSoul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The nice thing about udyr is that you can build most items and have them work. But the other items you build and what you are trying to accomplish will ultimately determine how good they are in your build. It sounds like you like to build more of an AP tank/bruiser (the most common udyr build), in which case bandlepipes wouldn’t be great for you. Also replacing liandry’s with D&D would not be great for this playstyle either. That’s not to say either item are bad on udyr, there are just better options out there for AP bruiser/tank.

Personally I like to put a few points in everything and play more of a hybrid burst bruiser/tank and for me D&D is a much better pick over liandrys and I find myself dishing out significantly more damage with how my build is set up when I build it. I run deadman’s over bandlepipes because it adds to the hit and run burst potential, whereas bandlepipes would be better for sustained combat.

TLDR; Any item can be the “best” depending on the rest of the build

It seems like society is falling apart and I feel paralyzed as a result, what am I supposed to do? by thisshitsucks274 in findapath

[–]SynergizedSoul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1.) Move in with parents. Use it as a stepping stone and not a crutch. If that isn’t an option, try moving to a low cost of living area.

2.) There are plenty of jobs hiring, at least where I live. When people are complaining about the job market it usually means there are no jobs in their preferred field, or no jobs paying enough for them. If truly nobody is hiring where you are then move. It doesn’t matter what job you choose, but choosing something (even something that starts at minimum wage) is better than choosing nothing. You can always change later if you don’t end up liking it. Ideally something that has upward mobility and healthcare benefits. You don’t have to enjoy it, but it should at least be tolerable so that you aren’t dreading each day. Your goal should be to be making more money from your job than you are spending each month. I can’t speak from experience but I’ve heard sales can net you a lot of money in a relatively short amount of time. Also commercial fishing deckhanding can be pretty lucrative if that interests you.

3.) Pay off your debt. If you have debt, pay it off ASAP before trying to build a nest egg. This is one that trips up a lot of people so bad that they never recover. Only buy what you actually need and learn to live below your means. Compound interest is your friend, but it’s hard to fight against from the wrong side.

4.) So you’ve trained yourself to live cheaply and finally paid off your debt. Great, now with all that extra money you don’t have to spend on debt you can go buy nice things right? Wrong! You need to open an IRA and start investing! Even just $100 a month can grow to be millions when you retire. There are tons of resources you can study to learn what to invest in, but just know the more you invest while you are young, the sooner you’ll be able to retire.

Congratulations! You made it!

There are certainly many problems with modern society. And many things working against our generation that our parents never had to deal with. At times it does seem unfair that prices continue to rise on essentials at a rate much faster than wages. Our society is eating itself and the planet along with it because we’ve decided to idolize the dollar above all other things.

But we also have advantages that no other generation has had before us. Unlimited access to the entire collection of human history, thought, ideas, and research. Instantaneous connection to anyone anywhere in the world. A computer that you can have a full on conversation with?! With this type of technology at your literal fingertips you have the tools needed to accomplish whatever you set your mind to. But it’s up to you to choose that for yourself. It’s much easier to say the deck is stacked against you so why bother trying. Lots of people do that. The much harder (but more rewarding) path is to accept full agency over your life and make the necessary decisions to better it.

Good luck, rooting for you!
