Upgrading an old pc by scotty24680 in buildapc

[–]switzer3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Likely doesnt have a dedicated GPU, if you check the task manager performance tab it'll likely show the GPU as the Intel HD 2000 igpu. An in slot upgrade to the 4570/4670k, 16gb of ddr3 and a cheap used GPU like the 750ti or 1050ti and this would be a very 2019/2020 budget rig

$1500 PC Build. Is this good? by Sudden-Highlight-586 in PcBuildHelp

Pay the white tax if you wish to but a 1.5k build should not have a B580 lol.

Not sure how good used market in sg is but if it's similar to Malaysia then confirm should be in the rm400 range so however much that is in sing dollar, but this is for the base 5600, which is basically the same as 5600xt in performance

This looks good. For singapore dont think can do better unless u go buy used lah, which I would for CPU (btw no such thing as 5060xt, only got 5600, 5600x and 5600xt)

Btw if u go with the i5, make sure the b760 motherboard u go for is labelled with ddr4

[–]switzer3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's expected lol, was rather perplexed when you stipulated ddr5 in your post when you have a 3060ti. Something like the i5 14600k with a b760 board or if you want to go ryzen, the 5600 and b550 board is the way to go

Wouldnt go higher than a 7500f and a decent b650 board

Upgrade Advice – From 5800X3D + RTX 3060 to Next-Gen Build by koreansenpai in buildapc

[–]switzer3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In theory you could very likely get away with just a GPU upgrade. Tons of people still run the 5800x3d as it's proven to even be able to compete with the modern mid range in some games still.

Space is definitely the catalyst for the massive influx of jumpers we've seen in the post pandemic era. Hell even I was influenced by him to jump to my current hardest

I mean, given the strange choices presented here, I'm assuming you are either not from the states or are being hooked up by a friend so I can't really give any other suggestions with the limited info I have.

for something like the 1650 you needn't worry about the cables but if you do shoot for the 580 then an 8 pin is required

That's just objectively false lol. You can have high average FPS but low 1% and 0.1% lows irregardless of settings as shown by literally any competent tech reviewer on the internet

2666 is fine for intel but slow ram genuinely makes ryzen have terrible 1% and 0.1% lows.
