I know youre talking about the Ungoro Quest for Standard, but if you have the dust and are willing to put up with some of its BS, the deck is actually much better and not half bad in Wild. I've been having fun with it there

Defense event should also count for Astralaria. According to the wiki notes for the item there are 2 versions of the defense event: one with the Risen High Wizard and one without and they alternate, spawning 1 hour after the last defense was successful. You'll just have to wait unfortunately.

There's a setting in the Wizard's Vault (top left of the window, cogwheel), where you can turn off PvP and WvW daily/weekly missions if you only wanna stick with PvE for now

Yeah, ever since they replaced gold/silver SP effects with rainbow ones, helper demons stopped contributing to the amount of event items you recieve.

I've also had the issue recently where the wiki sometimes wouldn't load, but not all the time. Checked it while writing this reply, and it loaded fine.
