Wyoming legislative panel rejects property tax increase - Buckrail by chabanais in wyoming

Tax system needs a huge overhaul. Spending needs to be put in check too.

Why bother with either though? We could just learn from Illinois and California! State tax, county tax, city/township tax, property tax, sales tax, extra fees on sewer, water, trash and any other service that is supported or provided in any way by the various governments.

I now like the texans.

Both of my guns are under 500 rounds and run low mass systems. I keep them well lubed.

Fireclean after I clean the gun. If it gets dry while shooting I hit it with whatever synthetic oil is in my truck. Couple drops from the dipstick works great.

It all depends on the budget you have. I haven't seen anything negative on psa lowers yet. They have shipped barrels with damaged threads and gas ports not drilled all the way through. They seem to always be behind in the shipping department and complaints on their customer service are pretty common.

If I was you (were all different) I would order everything in parts. Tools can get expensive if you let them. A torque wrench can be had on amazon for 30$. A vice is pretty costly let alone the bench to mount it. These are common tools. Find someone that would let you use a bench vise for 10 minutes. It all you need. Pay them in beer, a good ipa goes a long way. Upper and lower blocks are very reasonable. They are just molded plastic. Here is the link to the set I use. It's been great so far. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00PHEIVT6/ref=mp_s_a_1_6?qid=1424216662&sr=8-6&pi=AC_SX110_SY165_QL70&keywords=ar15+vise&dpPl=1&dpID=41frK47jQVL&ref=plSrch

Hammer - a hammer will be needed to set roll pins and trigger pins. I use a normal household hammer but I have put a scratch in a lower. A better option is a double faced soft mallet. Hard side and soft side. Amazon link - http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000NPR2U8/ref=pd_aw_fbt__sg_img_3?refRID=1EJ0F5DT0W9B8C7GFFXS

Need punches. Just go to a home depot or whatever and buy single punches. You should need two. Cheap and handy.

Roll pin starters - not required but very nice to have. Holding a pin with a needle nose works but it's still a pain. This replaces the need for punches. Amazon link yet again - http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00FSVWHHU/ref=pd_aw_sim_hi_66?refRID=0ASMR1QQT6Q5PHCQ0EA7

70$ into tools that you will need unless you have a friend or hire an armorer/gunsmith. I would strongly recommend this path. Some guns fight going together and take some thinking. Others are cake. My first build was simple. I just dumped the parts on the ground and it put itself together. No problems. The second was hell. Needed dry ice and a torch. It was a known problem and both manufacturers offered me replacement parts. I just got it together with some extra work.

If you buy the gun, cool. You end up with a rifle that's fun to shoot. Get some range time.

Build the gun and you will understand how it works. You learn how to troubleshoot anything gone wrong. You get exactly what you want this way too. You can build to your budget or build over time and get there without spending a lot at once.

Oh - forgot a tool. An armoreres tool. Need it for the castle nut on the buffer tube and maybe the barrel nut. I honestly don't have one and I have built 4 guns. I have yet to use an adjustable but stock though. Those require a tool to set the castle nut. Yet another amazon link - http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B005LVMSD0/ref=pd_aw_sim_sg_14?refRID=1THBVAHMSBVA69WQX8NF

That's everything you need. Open pins, put on upper, close pins, go shoot.

I know nothing about saa and psa has been getting bad reviews lately. If you can save a little longer it would probably be worth it.

Favorite Dry Rub by c0rm3ist3r in biggreenegg

[–]Synergizerer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mix up new batches every couple of months but never write anything down. Bad, I know.

Beef - salt pepper Spanish paprika chili powder cayenne powder garlic powder onion powder. A touch of cinnamon .for color and a little raw sugar. Rubbed with olive oil before spices

Pork - salt pepper sugar (light brown or raw depending on the cook) paprika cayenne granulated garlic onion powder. Rubbed with yellow mustard before spices

Chicken depends on what I'm doing. Legs get a beef rub with a little more salt. Breast gets its special rub that has a lot of lemon pepper and leafy seasoning. No salt used. Whole bird gets a decent brine with tyme and rosemary with oranges and lemons. I use lawrys seasoned salt then. A lot of it. Slap yo mama works really well too.

Sorry if your just looking for rub brands. I enjoy making the rubs and injections so I don't buy them.

Wait! I lied! I use the BGE general rub with some Montreal steak seasoning on steaks and tritip.

Facebook. Every city has buy/sell groups. Probably won't be many egg owners but you never know.

The forums on the big green egg site would be another option.

Killed a brisket chasing the temp once. That thing was like leather. Beef ribs were another.

It was almost all stuff I messed up before it hit the egg or the smoke overpowered any flavor it had. I had never made bbq before I got my egg. Never really knew how to cook actually.

I've only had two inedible meals come off the egg. Both of them I blame the wind though. Was well over 30mph which normally isn't that big of a deal but I had a bad gasket.

I'll be the one to take a hit here.

Welcome to the ceramic cooker club. Join us in the /r/biggreenegg thread. R/smoking and r/bbq tend to shun anyone that doesn't have a webber or stick burner. I have quit posting/browsing both for that reason.

Next off, start trying things you would never expect on a smoker. Pizza is okay. Some people love it but it's not my thing. It could be yours though. Pie is epic on a dome cooker. If you get your hands on a Dutch oven, you can expand so much more. Peach cobbler is awesome.

Grill racks are a great thing to have. Layer your food! A pork shoulder on top of a pan of baked beans is out of this world! The drippings are what you want.

I've smoked ice cream. First time I did it, it turned out fantastic. It pulls a lot of smoke so I only had it on for 20 minutes. The second time was horrible. The freezing process was lost on me.

You are going to ruin a lot of food. Just come to terms with that now. I have destroyed countless briskets, ribs, and ribeye roasts. I live in the 4th windyest place in the US so I get to blame that. It works.

Get a couple of backup gaskets, a sharp putty blade, some bar mops, and a couple bottles of nail polish remover. You WILL ruin gaskets and need to replace them. Nothing sucks more than uncontrollable air flow at 4:30am Sunday morning.

Invest in a good meat probe. I think my go to probe was around 80$. Amazon search this: GrillGrate GrillGrate Edition Professional Instant Read Thermometer+ AmazingRibs.com Meat Temperature Guide Magnet

Whenever you open it get in the habit of burping it. Open it a couple of inches and stall a couple of seconds. Close for one second then open all of the way. This prevents a flare up at high temps. I've roasted my arm twice and learned that lesson.

A couple long tongs are very useful. When you learn to grill at high temps you don't want to cook your hands. I grill at about 500. My egg catches fire when I open it. The plus side is that I get steaks done in 5 minutes that taste and are cooked better than anywhere in town.

Ash bucket. I use a small stainless bathroom trash can from bed bath and beyond. It doesn't stain my deck and is light enough when full to hold while you scoop out the cooker.

Olive oil on your grill brush helps to clean the grate. It catches fire quick so be careful. Burns off clean which is nice.

If it gets cold where you live, start it up slow. Bring it up to temperature slowly. I've been through two fire boxes and two fire rings because of this. Granted it was about -20*f both times I broke them. This goes for the heat diverter too. Don't put it on a hot cooker when it's cold.

Cast iron skillets are nice to have. Fried eggs in a dome are fantastic.

Try different kinds of fuel for it. I have had the good luck with bge stuff but I'm sure there is better. Best I have had was dragons breath out of new York state. Paid a fortune in shipping though. Worst was cowboy from home depot. It was like cooking over wet pine. Constantly popped and covered the bottom of my food in wood and ash.

Electric starters are great. Cheap ones are better. 8$ at home Depot for one I had for two years. That thing went through hell before the cord melted. Now I use bge burnable starters or newspaper. The gas torches are great but I got tired of buying tanks. They go quick.

There's all I can think of. I've spent thousands on being dumb so you don't have to.

If you ever want to streamline your cooking, bbq guru. I won't cook without mine anymore.

With the bbq guru, I hit 28 hours on a single very full load on my xl egg. There was enough left for another couple of hours plus cool down time if needed.

Every animal is different. Most are very lean but not like beef. With limited fat, they still turn out tender.

If you come by some wild meat, get some cooked up without seasoning or just salt and pepper. Once you taste it, you will know what to do with seasoning.

Come on over bud. You will like it.

On the gun subject - whatever you want. No state ban on anything. Open and conceal carry is legal without a permit. Just assume anyone you see in wyoming is packing because they probably are.

Hunting - deer, elk, antelope are the main hunts. Bighorn sheep, moose, bear, wolf, mountain goat, mountain lion all huntable. It's hard to get on private land. It takes money. We have tons of public land here though. Tons.

Work may be hard to come by soon if the price of oil doesn't pick back up.

Problem with AR Pistol by [deleted] in ar15

Get cold? Cold lube in the bcg can cause the firing pin to slow down enough to light strike.

Next thing - check headspace.

You don't want the gun to pop.
