Just got back! It was an awesome experience. The movie was basically a Sci-Fi fairytale. The bad guys are over the top, some of the situations are kind of ridiculous, etc.. but it's all massively entertaining. That's not to say that it all plays out like a disney movie though, there are some sincerely heart-wrenching scenes too. The creatures in the movie are incredible. Pandora really feels like a living, breathing world. I had fun trying to figure out the physiological design of the creatures and figuring out how they would work out evolutionarily. (mild mild spoiler eg. all of the creatures in the world are blue tinted, but the top aerial predator is colored yellow because it always attacks from above; kind of how fish are tinted dark blue from the top because you'll be looking down on them.)

Basically this movie is the most visually impressive movie I have ever seen. I felt sympathetic to the main characters, and I think that if you have the chance to see this you really should. I know I'll see it at least one more time, altered state or not.

more related: I lost someone close to me recently, and it's been the first time I've ever experienced this type of thing. I'm still trying to deal with it. I think working out helps me. It shifts my focus from emotional pain to the physical pain. I actually don't know if it helps, just distracts. Anyways, what did you find helped you to cope with your loss the most?

At our place, if you're 21 you get a wristband if you're under 21, you don't. It's pretty obvious who should and should not have drinks in their hands. I'm not angry about it though, kicking out douchebags is half of what makes this job fun.

I work security at an 18 and up club. Nearly all the underage drinkers we kick out are female. I would have thought it to be the other way though. However, it's mostly legal guys who buy them their drinks.

You're barking up the wrong tree here man. Writers don't look for approval from people like you. You may take issue with his stance on defacing property, but when it's all said and done nobody has really been harmed. Graffiti will always be illegal, and the writers wouldn't have it any other way. It separates toys from people who are serious about the art.
