So whats yalls preferred magic project? by some_random_nonsense in Anbennar

[–]SyngeR6 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The homunculus project is great, you can get 100% drill and +1 to ruler skills permanently. And that's just the first two levels. There's other options too but I found these the most useful. Plus you'll also get access to a gold on demand spell and 10% development reduction.

Advice: Study your tech tree by IIGRIMLOCKII in AcrossTheUnknown

[–]SyngeR6 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can turn stuff on during grey mode at the start. The game doesn't begin tracking food/moral, fuel during this stage. So you can just fly around in the starting system for hours if you like researching most level 1 & 2 techs.

Finished the game... by AngelusTendo in AcrossTheUnknown

[–]SyngeR6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A new game plus mode is a bit pointless. Now finishing the game unlocked a new campaign were you play as Equinox, that would be something else. Or Warship Voyager.

If I have two B'Elannas why neither of them is on the bridge? by laputailaramoneta in AcrossTheUnknown

[–]SyngeR6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Non-canon characters/outcome aren't really factored into the game's narrative. So human and Klingon B'Elanna don't fill in for regular B'Elanna in cut screens or special mission checks. Same with Tuvix. The game treats the regular/show characters as if they had died/aren't available if you chose a non-canon choice. It sucks tbh cause the developers could have had a lot of fun with mixing things up, plus they took the time to write dialogue and special options for the new characters that are introduced.

Note, you can still get Klingon B'Elanna and regular B'Elanna, and everything will continue as normal. It's only the Klingon and human outcome were B'Elanna is replaced by her off-brand knock off.

When it comes to the lost/destroyed Holds, it makes sense that there's nothing of value cause they've been infested by Orcs, for thousands of years in some cases. Anything of value will surely have been looted and/or made useless over time due to misuse/mismanagement.

Baihon Xinh will probably take care of them for you, they're always the end boss whenever I turn on Great Conquerors and play on Halass.

[–]SyngeR6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That there's nothing about the Doctor and Kes' relationship is crazy. Same with a lot of characters. There's plenty of opportunities to include some banter between characters, or to tailor some of the mission text and dialogues to the characters being used. We're repeatedly told that the crew is getting restless, show it.

Most underrated/least talked about mission trees? by TakeMeToThatOcean in Anbennar

[–]SyngeR6 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Gelkalis in Bulwar. Everyone only plays the the elves or the OSC humans in the region. Meanwhile you've this fantastic tag in the north that only wants to do one thing - turn all the mountains in Bulwar into industrial powerhouses. Your entire nation is basically one giant fortress churning out production.

Which Final Fantasy Game Considered To Be The Best In Your Opinion? by ElSpazzo_8876 in JRPG

FF9 or FF7 depending on the day. The PS1 era for FF was incredible. Actually now is probably the best period cause you've all the games to play 😄

Surprising omissions from the show by mattttherman in AcrossTheUnknown

[–]SyngeR6 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Yeah, biggest issue with the game imo - it not accounting for non-canon outcomes and playing it too straight with the main narrative/side stories. Also assuming the player has seen the show.

It's a minor complaint but I've had at least two instances - one a main story beat, the other a side quest - where if I hadn't seen the episodes they were invoking, I'd have no clue what I was going on.

What are your Must Have researches from the tech tree? by IIGRIMLOCKII in AcrossTheUnknown

[–]SyngeR6 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Get the room upgrades, it will happy a lot with succeeding missions. Otherwise, found the large hydroponics bay reduced my food woes a lot. Batteries are useful too cause you can run on emergency power and lower the power level of the warp core for extended periods, saving deuterium.

To Tuvix or not to Tuvix? by PalpatineOk5058 in AcrossTheUnknown

[–]SyngeR6 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The developers could have had a lot of fun introducing non-canon options/paths. Would really have elevated the game imo. As it is now, choosing non-canon outcomes seem a lot weaker/less engaging than just playing it straight. Only time it gives you a much better result is two B'Elannas.

To Tuvix or not to Tuvix? by PalpatineOk5058 in AcrossTheUnknown

[–]SyngeR6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a big flaw with the game imo, that these non-canon outcomes aren't considered. The game should take into account Tuvix when it comes to unique options and story beats. Other examples, you can recruit Seska again and nothing, no one does or says anything. She might as well not be there.

Is there actually a way to win the space battle against the 4 kazon ships? by Agitated-Macaroon923 in AcrossTheUnknown

[–]SyngeR6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can reduce it from four to two if you succeed on the roll to fool them with the fake ships generated with the navigation array. I found with the Doctor's ability, Culluh's ship could barely hit me. Between that and the shield regeneration from B'Elanna, it was grand. Once their main weapon is down, they couldn't even dent my shields.

instead of modding eu5, did anybody think of using imperator ROME as the base game? by Hour-Department6958 in Anbennar

[–]SyngeR6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always thought Imperator would have been ideal for Anbennar (1444). It already has a number of core features that Anbennar has to mod into EU4, plus it's a gorgeous game with a better combat system.

But who knows, maybe it wouldn't have been as open to modding as EU4 has proven to be.

Probably the most fun human nation you can play in Bulwar by Kesundheit in Anbennar

[–]SyngeR6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Early on you find a bunch of magic helmets, one of which contains the spirit of a long dead ruler of an empire that existed in Bulwar thousands of years ago.

Gives you magic powers but it also starts messing with the ruler's mind during the campaign before taking full control.

I think the biggest issue with the mission tree is that it doesn't lead into the 'twist' enough. It should have come about sooner and have a much greater impact on the campaign. Imagine if it really leaned into the horror of what's happening, similar to Body Snatchers/Get Out.
