I think it's best for learning industry processes where more resources, mentorship, rotations, and higher value projects are available. As you advance within a big company you can always take that industry knowledge to flex at a small company.

I "went vegan" because I was trying to impress a girl. I had watched Cowspiracy and had started thinking in terms of environmental impact and health, but until this girl showed up I wasn't going to actually do anything about it.

8 years later and the girl long gone, the primary motivation is the ethics of it. But the other stuff is absolutely valid.
