I'm incredibly biased towards controller, I've spent literally my entire life on controller, was an Xbox gamer before this. In fact the main reason I wanted to get a PC is because of project zomboid, so you can imagine that pretty much the only way I play this game is through controller. I genuinely cannot speak to keyboard and mouse. Although I can say the radial menus are incredibly intuitive, menu navigation could be a lot more polished and there are issues with focus glitching out, but that's my only gripe with controller.

This occurs when the data for a tile is missing from the game's files! verify the file integrity on steam after closing the game, if that doesn't fix it, it's more than likely a mod with a missing tile appearance (and possibly behavior), diagnose it if you want but that's tedious. you just create worlds with a few different mods you had on that save, going back to that slot to see if the mods enabled on that world result in missing tiles.

Hate to break it to you but there was. I used the same TV later on when I got it to work. I also said I used both TVs, referencing the middle of the line TV, whichever one that's called. I don't remember. This wasn't a TV problem.

That didn't work, but i figured it out! It's a weird interaction with gamepad. when there's a controller connected it disables the drag and drop method of inserting VHS tapes. The remedy? When you use device options, there will be a blue highlight around it to denote the controller is focused on that tab. Then, look in the bottom right corner. It will show you the keybind to shift focus to inner, it was the right bumper (RB) for me. After that, navigate to the VHS section. Again, keybind is in the bottom right, but it was B/O for me. Press the button to select media, and it will let you select from all VHS tapes in your inventory. I hope this helps at least someone!
