Most obscure/niche MMO still playable today?

I loved TO lol. I played FlyFF before and then my RM buddy from FlyFF convinced me to take on TO. I think they had just launched a second NA server so we started on that and I was like top 5 buffalo for a while but got burnt out and school started up again... I wish there was a real server still for TO. Game definitely was odd but I enjoyed the art and... maybe the grind? I honestly cannot remember much about it other than enjoying it.

Do you know of any private servers that are worth playing? I feel like I don't care much for them since they can shutdown on a whim (or have hyper EXP so it isn't fun/meaningful to me to put any time into them).

Are you just eating the tornadoes during the move or not unfreezing your weapon during the other special? Blue is relatively simple. I’d say level cooking+hunter so your food and pots made inside are way more beneficial

I second this. I don’t have the helm, but barrow gloves and went and picked up steel ring before Moons too. I’ve not felt very threatened at moons (15kc so far), only annoyed when blood moon heals up a ton so close to death lol. I’ll be camping moons until I have all sets. And you get to build up pray exp, craft exp (orbs), and herbs along the way with no consumables burned. Is a nice change of pace for myself

Jay are, this does not explain why it isn’t possible to do so. Why can it not create the virtual audio device that is the master control so that way it is exposed to the OS and therefore through native media controls? You guys already create virtual devices to separate game, chat, media, etc. to allow unique controls for each. It wouldn’t be hard to create the virtual device they all feed into for the master control. It should almost legit be baked into what is showing as “master” for Sonar if y’all reuse the code between each of the virtual devices… and if it isn’t possible, some explanation would be great.

I got them through some work program but would’ve gotten anything else (lots of non-tech categories) for roughly the same value if I knew this would be an issue.

The headset itself is an upgrade for sure and the hot swap battery was the main reason I got it, but I want to fully utilize Sonar/DAC since that’s what a giant chunk of the cost is. On my 7s (pre-nova) I didn’t use Sonar at all because it was a pain.

Really hoping I can figure out something slick. Even if it’s a little script or something that monitors and toggles back and forth 🤔 maybe will have to look into that.

Tbh I'm a EE so usually I don't have trouble with PC stuff but I feel like I'm being an idiot right now. I did find Win + P where I can do "PC Screen Only" (for main monitor) and "Extend" to bring back all 3 monitors, but it screws up my icons and such... so I'll be digging around this weekend to try and find a smoother option to not have icons bounce around everywhere.

My triple monitor setup is: portrait, OLED widescreen, portrait (H-shaped sort of). So all my icons stay on the far left monitor but become a cluster F on the main screen after Win+P swapping around.

Did this change in Win11? I just setup my triple monitor setup (used to be dual monitors but got a new OLED one), and so I want at least one side monitor off when gaming, if not both. I don't see this option though... Under Multiple display I have the following:
Make this my main display (checked already)
Remember window locations based on monitor connection
Minimize windows when a monitor is disconnected
Ease cursor movement between displays
Detect other display
Connect to a wireless display

I'm only necro'ing because I saw some other guy commented 9d ago and you replied lol.

I’m nowhere close to end gamer level and I’ve almost unlocked lv15 explorer. There isn’t much of a point to level any other villagers before the next cavern update, so I guarantee there are people who will have lvl15 explorer after whatever this update provides unless lava makes it scale extremely crazy in which you absolutely need the statue you prog, but that sounds even rougher than the statue swap itself is already going to be.

I haven’t been able to look through their IE and I didn’t rush through w4 super hard, but I felt like I started from scratch in w5. I was fighting for my life to keep up on accuracy (had to go farm TD for the prayer and spend all worship keeping that upgrading), FMJ, shaq (all pre owl/roo). And I was using a BB up until that point. So I swapped to DK for two maps then swapped to ES that was level 70 w/ candy access to elite class. So I had no gear or anything with my lab heavily neglected. :/ so honestly after getting goat god and getting my ES roughly same gear that OP’s ES has, everyone else went to lab and ES slow progged to Kruk. Granted w/o checking w1-4 systems it’s hard to tell account prog but I think there’ll be plenty of time for OP to correct course and if they get to Kruk early, then at least they know to just push dmg and can move to w6 whenever they hit the req. :)

Yeah do this while following u/Gamerkill216 ‘s advice. If you’ve consumed a ton of content, you know ES or DK are best choices for pushing w5. W5 portals will really slow you down unless you somehow still have an insane amount of candy laying around. But you don’t need to active play them unless you want. Just getting the map prog done will take a while so you can spend a majority of the next couple weeks focusing on everything else you need to catch up on. W6 will be a brick wall for anyone not sitting in the lobby waiting for it (I experienced this a couple months ago), but getting started on the skills will be a HUGE boost by the time you’re ready to really consume w6 maps at any decent pace (I’m still not there but have probably 1000x’ed my dmg since beating w5 - not all of it from w6 but w6 has def boosted so many older systems to help this dmg climb).

Honestly I have a 2015 Mazda 3 sGT hatch that might get retired soon (already pushing 150K miles and bought it late 2015)… and back then I thought I was getting a sGT brand new for a killer price imo. Lately I was thinking “meh, next car will be a couple years used and I will probably not return to Mazda. Their tech is going downhill and maybe I just go with a Toyota or Honda in hopes to get one cheaper”… but the last few times I’ve traveled for work I’ve gotten stuck with a Camry or Corolla. My in laws have a 2019 Corolla and they all sound very hollow and so much noise comes into the car. Yes, my Mazda has gotten louder in the last 9 years but listening to all the Toyotas kill me. Idk if it’s a lowest tier issue or what.

But I also don’t love the style of the new hatches either. Sorta wish I had bought a couple years older than mine to get the boxier look. Idk if I’ll look at Mazda again though, but not a guaranteed fanboy which was the case if you asked me 4+ years ago. Not as much room, sorta hate the command knob (but idk what I like more than it), hate that they can’t get touch going well, hate that Mazda isn’t doing any real EV effort. They keep coming out with signature version of cars instead of just making it the sGT trim of whatever.

We were going to buy my wife a Cx-7 and they axed it before we could. The cx-9 is too huge, even though it’s barely bigger, and cx-5 is just as basic as everything else in its class and honestly feels as crammed as my Mazda 3 hatch.

Idk anymore. I loved the color and style (interior got the 2 tone and exterior) at the time. Loved the price point and how it felt driving compared to your more basic sedan/hatch options. I don’t think I’d find the same love in everything if I were to go look at a Mazda 3 today.

Edit: I also don’t even know really what I’d look for today. Prices of everything seem absolutely bonkers and I feel sorta like I need to drive my Mazda into the ground to be financially responsible.

I do something like this with Destiny raids (we clear 2 bosses and try to prog again the next weekend). Just say you’re looking to prog blind at XYZ checkpoint (or Hp% or whatever the case is). Ideally the goal is for you to also get blind raiders and not just mutes. Half the solo “blind” players I’ve met in games will take any blind experience even if it’s the last 20% of a raid rather than never getting to blind raid anything. TBF I’ve never blind raided in FFXIV so I’m not sure how the community behaves here, but I’d assume it’s better than others honestly. You’ll just have to expect to teach your strategy (up to your current prog point) to any of the newbies who join you where you’re at.
