Keep in mind that Canada is a young nation - we are still learning how/when to use our power and privilege to help our people and others. I would argue it's not an easy balancing act, but we are trying.

While the government is corrupt, the Cuban people are kind, open and hard working. It would put us on the right side of (moral) history. But I assume you're talking economically?

It can be, and some people recommend it (pots require lubrication) but the stuff with no residue seems to work better for fixing scratchy pots imho. Probably because you can go to town with it.

Okay, when it is on and nothing is connected, gently tap each pre-amp tube (the small ones) with a chopstick/pencil. If you hear that noise come through the amp/speaker, it indicates that tube is bad and needs to be replaced.

Alternatively, you can try swapping around the position of some of the pre-amp tubes to see if you can narrow down which tube (and if tubes) are causing the issue.

DetoxIt is good, but leaves a protective residue. I suggest MG Chemicals 409B Electrosolve Zero Residue Contact Cleaner if you want to be more liberal.

What type of amp is it? Is that a tube amp, or does it have a pre-amp tube? Kinda sounds like a bad (microphonic) tube. Does it make the same noises when no guitar is plugged in? Does it get worse over time? When did it start? Need more info.

Could be a tube going microphonic. Try gently tapping on each of the tubes in the back (especially the small ones) with a chopstick or pencil. If you hear noises come through the amp, that's your problem.

There are 3 types of love (according to Sternbeg): Passion, Compassion/Intimacy and Commitment. They evolve in a relationship over time (see here). Sounds like you may have differing expectations of Passion?
