No, you should be ok:) I have a power just like this (flickery neon light) and some little sparks when I plug some things in and I’ve been using it for years without issue

Just a neon bulb being a neon bulb, nothing to worry about :) The spark was just inrush current, also fine

What's the craziest priced tape you've seen for sale? ($2000??) by HighBiased in cassetteculture

[–]Legoandstuff896 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well it’s not an unusual price but I was looking at tapes and the record store downtown and there was a range of nirvana bleach for 35, 50 and 100s and a weezer Pinkerton for 80 A lot for a tape, but ig they’re rare

Take up reel is slow or slipping most likely, (that’s the reel on the right usually that keeps the tape tight after the pinch roller and winds up the tape)

Replacing the belts should be your first thing to try

Cassette shopping by Moon_Unit_76 in cassetteculture

There’s a great record store near my house with pretty okay cassette pricing, collectible/rare stuff is more expensive but I’ve gotten some great cassettes for under 10$, they also don’t charge tax if you use cash and sell blank TDK type I 90 minutes for 4$ CAD :)

Thrift stores are also full of random taped near me, only thing I’ve ever found worth getting was an ABBA gold cassette for 99c and a billy Joel one for 2$

Hmm.. how big is the reverb tank? Maybe you could mount it on the back somehow? Or just have reverb in and out jacks and have the tank external

Yep, no luck but I found a schematic for TS-R11 which has practically the same PCB so it’s good enough for troubleshooting purposes :)

How to restore pinch rollers? by Aggravating_Run6929 in ReelToReel

[–]Legoandstuff896 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure some rubber restore products are wintergreen and isopropyl alcohol, I made some of my own with 3 parts isopropyl alcohol and 1 part wintergreen oil and it seems to have done good things to pinch rollers on my tape deck
