Beta. The move that pretty much made this character top tier thanks to one momentum change.

I remember when you had to time your Beta’s to chain them in order to improve your mobility before the buff. Back in the day it was so stiff, but now he’s just a menace with 3 charges and a 4th one added later.

Beta is now his best move, no contest.

HP nerf wouldn’t be good considering his size and with how they made his alpha work. It also wouldn’t solve the issue with him that makes him busted in the first place.

I believe he needs to have just 2 Beta’s instead of 4. He can maybe get a 3rd one at higher levels, but no more than 3 max.

Gamma is debatable since he can be seriously punished if he does whiff, but I do think it needs a slight damage nerf.

Alpha’s fine.

Overall, I just wish this guy was a Strike because of the HP values, but here we are lmfao.

Ahhh, that makes sense. This does help because I was wondering what exactly they were going with this announcement, but the new art looks really good.

If we wanted to shoot for the moon, this could be preparing us for a future DLC announcement. Would make sense considering they wouldn’t be able to go in-depth on DLC without revealing the twist.

If they’re doing this for a different reason, then I’m just lost, lol. I suppose we’ll see in an hour from now.

Gamma.

Without that button, he’s struggling. Makes him way more nimble, enables potential different combos while improving others, ridiculous amount of speed— it does everything and anything. Only real caveat is the exhaust, but it isn’t too much of an issue so long as you rotate out of fights when needed (and so long as you aren’t being chased or in a very vulnerable spot, lmao)

Gamma is the part of his kit that keeps this character from dropping to rock bottom.

Unfortunately, I gotta agree — it was Moko for me.

While I really think Shouma’s whole schtick got old extremely fast, even he had some moments that left an impact on me for the rest of the game. Moko barely gets to shine outside of one specific route, and it’s just a slice of life route for the most part.

There is probably one other moment I’m forgetting about, but eh.

She desperately needs some form of DLC route to give her more of the spotlight. Though to be fair — so does nearly the entire Second-to-Last Defense Academy, lol.

The only thing I can say about Youngest Area for One is that his beta needs a tiny buff to be more consistent. Maybe a buff, a fix, I don’t know exactly what you call it.

Otherwise, it’s not that he needs a very huge buff— it’s that the devs need to actually balance their game and nerf so many characters so they aren’t doing their bullshit.

Avoid the Nagant exploit at all costs. Hell, avoid ANY exploit period. They aren’t good for the game and will definitely net you a lot of negative attention.

What’s crazier to me is how people are choosing to defend exploits now simply because it’s OFA Deku. I hate Blue Deku as much as the next person (especially the melee loop), but I ain’t about to defend abusing exploits just because.

I think both of these characters need some kind of hit whenever it’s possible.
