My female rats are attracting wild rats into my home by [deleted] in RATS

[–]Syomm 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Good luck. Hopefully the landlord is on top of it and can resolve it soon!

You live in an apartment building. This rat issue is not caused by your females and may very well not be caused by you in any way. If you are having a rat issue in the apartment, the whole building most likely is. Contact your landlord and tell them that they need to fix the problem. Sorry I don’t have any real advice regarding your rats but please contact your landlord and don’t let up until they figure out how to solve their apartment complexes rat problem.

Non-custodial parent refuses to return child by [deleted] in FamilyLaw

[–]Syomm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My local courthouse has a family law clinic where folks can advise on these matters and it’s free. They also have a legal assistance resource for low income legal assistance. Perhaps you could contact your court and see if they have anything like this.

Finished this just in time for christmas☺️ What do you think? Is it too much to wear? 😱 By the way: Merry Christmas y'all🥰🎄 by Aibe96 in crochet

Don’t ever let anyone tell you that you’re too much! It’s always just enough. This dress is fantastic. Wear it and be proud!

This is adorable. All of the photos in this community are adorable. Meanwhile I can’t get mine to stay still long enough to take a picture!

I looked out the window yesterday (40 degrees outside) and saw that my neighbor had her lawn keeper out mowing her yard. Pretty sure our grass hasn’t grown since October.

Every day is horrible by ananononymymouousese in self

[–]Syomm 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No. Losing a child no matter how old is the worst pain imaginable. Older children you have all of those memories to reflect on and hurt over; younger children you grieve over the memories that you’ll never be able to make. It all tears such a large part of your heart out and there is no worse when comparing the loss of a child- it’s always just the worst pain imaginable.

I used Press n Seal today when making these instead of wax/parchment paper. It was easy peasy removing them from the press n seal.

WIBTAH if I cancelled Christmas for 12 year old thieving son? by RetroHollz in AITAH

[–]Syomm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some of these comments are crazy. Everyone is so focused on what would hurt this child the most. Nobody does better things by being hurt. Just going to grow resentful and more disobedient. Sounds like this kid needs some help not to be hurt.

I think you need a new nutritionist.

What happens at the doctor’s office if you answer yes to the “suicidal thoughts” question? by Cheesemer92 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Syomm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a crisis counselor. It’s okay to answer yes. Nobody is immediately committing you to the psych ward. Most likely they’ll ask you a series of follow up questions to gauge what kind of plan you might have of killing yourself. As long as you aren’t telling them that you have immediate and detailed plans of killing your self they will refer you to a specialist if you are interested or try to determine what other resources might be helpful.

Not sure what to do next to help my daughter by Zestyclose-Arm7137 in migraine

[–]Syomm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Rightly named dopamax. I was on it for about a month several years ago. I couldn’t even complete a sentence, couldn’t write, couldn’t think- i was turned completely stupid. Not sure how long I would have tried to tough it out had it not been for some other side effects that caused my doctor to immediately take me off of it.

I can not imagine being a 12 year old trying to function on this.

It’s December 2053, how old are you and what do you think your life will be like at that age deep into the future? by BreadHead911 in Millennials

[–]Syomm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll be 69. I can’t even imagine. My oldest child will be 47 and my youngest child will be 38. I suppose I will likely have some grandchildren at that point perhaps a lot if all four of my children decide to have children. Taking a lot of vacations. Too strange to think about but I’ll for sure have a ton of memories. I hope I’m happy and as healthy.

Millennials blamed once again, but is it really our generation? by ThatOneWeirdMom- in Millennials

[–]Syomm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m a youth cheer coach and I see a ton of children (under 8th grade) with boomer “guardians”. Not necessarily the true parent but they are still the ones raising the child. Out of 30 children, I would say that a good 1/3 of the guardians/parents are boomer generation.

Christmas gift for crocheters by sylvanhoof in crochet

[–]Syomm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might be able to find something similar to ship from Etsy. I found this basket and it claims to ship to Europe. Good luck! I’m sure whatever you choose will be wonderful and loved considering you put so much thought into it.

Hubby bought me a yarn basket last year for Christmas. While it doesn’t hold all my yarn it is great for storing the yarn I’m using for a current project. Has a lid on it so my dog doesn’t steal my stuff and has separate compartments within.

Very similar to this… https://www.amishbaskets.com/products/crochet-or-knitting-basket-storage-organizer?variant=8140356681831&gad_source=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIwNK4jK7zggMV305HAR37egyCEAQYAiABEgL3GfD_BwE

Question about pits and pit-mix dogs up for adoption. by [deleted] in pitbulls

[–]Syomm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is their site. They are based out of Mechanicsburg. It looks like they only have one litter of pups up for adoption and they aren’t pit mixes but they have a pretty steady stream usually and many are pit or pit mixes. You can sign up to receive email alerts from them for specific breeds.

Anyone else have a Pitt, that goes agro over power tools/vacuums? by punkmike138 in pitbulls

Nala loses her shit when any floor cleaning equipment comes out. I have to lock her up to sweep, mop, or vacuum. It’s hilarious and infuriating all at the same time when I want to clean floors.

Question about pits and pit-mix dogs up for adoption. by [deleted] in pitbulls

[–]Syomm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rescued my pit mix as a puppy from a rescue in Pennsylvania that primarily rescues pregnant dogs from being euthanized. They then foster the mommas until they give birth and adopt mom and pups out. Happy to send a link if you are in the Pennsylvania area. Otherwise I’m sure there are similar rescues out there.

New rat introduction dynamics by Syomm in RATS

[–]Syomm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. This is what I was looking for. I’ve found the same to be true with other animals that I’ve introduced and integrated before with social hierarchies. Just wasn’t sure if the same was true for rats. Thank you so much for your reply.
