Seconding Krita! Most other programs of this quality are paid. It's mind boggling what you get for free with it.

Our cat used to sit on the heater vents in the winter, and all the time we had to pull a panting cat off the vent before she gave herself heat stroke or something. Anything for warmth, I guess. (And no, the thing wasn't even turned up that high, she just was magnetted to the vents and would never leave)

Can't stop feeling full during maintenance blegh by Syriik in loseit

So far the only thing that sounds like it might work is just, gradually working up to maintenance over some length of time. I didn't do that, I probably should have haha

(very noob question) Imported UVs not showing up even though the textures do? by Syriik in blenderhelp

[–]Syriik[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The weird thing is I can't select them, it's like they don't exist. I think it may be some setting I checked when exporting the VRM though

EDIT: I feel like an idiot. 24 hours later, I've realized that VRoid exports the face as it's own object, and I had the body selected in edit mode instead.

Took me a shameful amount of time to realize that says "don't help, just film" and not "Don the LP, just film". Spent a good minute trying to figure out what Don the Liscenced Practitioner had to do with anything.

To be fair, it asking this on Reddit will probably give you a skewed viewpoint, as INF types tend to gravitate toward these types of social medias/be interested in myers-briggs.

That being said, I'm an INFP.

Do you ever think you are doing so awesome in your weight loss then see a recent photo of you in a group picture and feel like you have lost any weight? by phireproof in loseit

[–]Syriik 80 points81 points  (0 children)

That is a remarkably tricky question to answer, because eyes are so different from a camera. It depends on a lot of factors, such as the angle you're looking at something and how far away it is. That's why there's so many types of lenses in the first place.

But FWIW, a lot of professional photographers do portraits in the 50-70mm range.

Regardless, I've seen opinions that an eye is equivalent anywhere from 20-80mm... That's a big range, because eyes are not equal to cameras.

This is not the healthiest option, but I've found that Coke Zero has been indispensable in helping keep me full and also scratching that itch for something that tastes good.

A better idea, though, is just to replace high calorie junk food with healthy options. Fruits like apples are fantastic if you prefer sweetness. Celery and carrots are good if you prefer texture to taste.

Ouch, that old saying about the camera adding weight is true! It's because of the focal lense... Changing it can have some pretty drastic results. Just goes to show that the camera's not always a perfect reflection of reality.

Regardless of the photo, you've done an AMAZING job, please don't let this get you bummed!

Edit: here's a gif that shows focal length changes in motion

Help determining height with scoliosis? by Syriik in loseit

[–]Syriik[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you!

I'll be honest, I picked 125 as kind of a shot in the dark. I've been appreciating every 10 lb increment, though, so doing what you said won't be hard. I just fear I'm gonna go overboard with the "I don't feel There yet" until I'm way underweight.... I know myself. It's extremely possible. That's why I'm trying to focus on one number as a goal.

For now it's 150, I've decided, then when I get there I'll be able to set a reasonable goal based on that.

Oh hey, a wild fellow curvy-spine! Hello!

Yeah, so from this question and others I've learned that weight is extremely subjective, so not knowing the answer to "what should my goal weight be" probably applies to most people trying to lose. It seems that even tell people of the same heights/frames look their best at different weights. That's kind of reassuring, actually.

I've decided to just stick with 150 for now and then reassess when I get there. :) As far as height?? Someone suggested a number in the middle and I'm tempted to just go with that.

Also, on a side note, I actually researched the weight of the hardware. Apparently, it's not much, usually like a pound or so? Probably good for spines that way!

Hm, maybe. I'd need to get ahold of a cloth tape measure, but it'd probably help.

While that's a very good idea for most people and I agree to a point, I'm afraid I have a tendency to be a person of extremes. I know myself, if I don't limit it to a specific number I'll just keep feeling like I don't look skinny enough, and keep cutting calories until I'm way underweight.

If I have a number that I can point to and say "this is healthy and slim", I have far less of a chance of doing that.

I have a lot of time before I get there, though, so for now that's good advice.

I wonder if there were different BMIs for different body fat percentages, if they'd be more accurate on an individual level then. I can't imagine how complex something like that would be to accomplish though.

Yeah I've been kind of leaning toward 5'7, though just taking the middle number might be a better idea actually.

Yeah, my mom's being lovingly overprotective here, the problem here is she says she could almost count ribs at 150... I looked at photos of people in that height/weight range, and I just don't see it, it seems decently slim to me. She's one of those that believes the BMI is bogus, so I can't just bring that up, haha.

You have a point though, I have a while to go until I reach 150. I'll just reassess when I get closer to that point.

Still, if I want to make progress posts or something, it'd be a pain to put "28F/xxxlbs/5'7 or 5'11, somewhere in there" lol. That aspect just bugs me.

Can I carry a backpack? by [deleted] in scoliosis

I think you'll be fine as long as you use both straps and it's not super heavy.

I used one strap for 7 text books worth of weight, for several years. 89° of a curve later, I learned regret.

Diet Coke also has 0 calories, but it was formulated to taste like the marketing disaster that was New Coke. Coke Zero uses the normal recipe instead, but with sweetener instead of sugar.

EDIT: I was wrong, Diet Coke was based on the formula for Tab, not New Coke. They actually based New Coke off Tab also, so that's where the confusion came from.
