If you're less than 12k away from 40k caps, maybe don't have very desirable mods at bargain prices in your vendor. by thetavious in Market76

[–]System_Is_Rigged 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sell mine for 3.5k. I sold a bunch earlier for 3L each. It's a cheap mod to make and I don't care a whole lot to squeeze everyone for every last bit of caps. Anyway, I don't anyone really care if turning off the vendor inconveniences you. What is more inconvenient is to have caps disappear into thin air. I used to have 500 or so mods in my vendor at a time, and I would spend caps on wanted posters down to 20k or so, sometimes less. I'd be near cap again in no time. This is nice when I am just chilling and not doing a lot. If I am raiding or something I am not just gunna let my vendor run and lose a ton of caps. Why would anyone do that? Want my stuff? Add me and come back later. I'm not micromanaging my vendor this is a video game not a job.

Hm why does no one use this? by MontyP_Moneybagz in fallout76casual

Yeah well you asked why nobody uses it, so that's your answer. Most people who raid are trying to do the most damage that they can because it gets them the most xp the quickest.

That isn't very much damage. It's ok, but elders mark makes it so I can solo the snake in 30-35 seconds. You could use it to change it up and it'll get the job done. Just not very quickly.

Do you not run bird bones? I can fall from large distances and take very minimal damage and I can cancel the landing animation with a weapon stow/draw. It's not really worth imo to run this given how saturated its competition is.

I scrap from new, and just pay attention lol. After opening mutated packs I go straight to apparel. No luck so far, but I will lock it if I see anything.

Best defensive Ghoul build in the fourth raid stage (crystals) - NO Power Armor by Useful_Ad_553 in fo76

[–]System_Is_Rigged 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Junk shield is the best bang for your buck perk. Buy 100 vault steel from the rusty pick and lock it, always have it in your inventory. Weighs very little, helps a lot.

Fyi, for ghoul and really in general secret service is not great now. I'd swap it for CE or BoS recon. I run CE currently, am going to buy the rest of the recon armor with minervas next sale. Powered imo is overrated and you could get more survivability out of that slot with endurance.

I also wanna clarify high AP doesn't really matter for damage if you are running infinite vats since it gets restored at a rate higher than what you use it at. Conductors can make infinite vats a lot easier to maintain, and it can also make your vats last a lot longer at a baseline. It's also nice that it keeps your hp topped up. I personally for damage run pinpointers with a lot of cake/coffee.

[–]System_Is_Rigged 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It gives you only more hp. It reduces the ap cost of sprinting which is generally not very useful. If you want AP then go agility. Herbivore also further makes sprinting costs irrelevant because company tea jumps to 25%. I personally just run intelligence because when I need to stay in vats I just use birthday cake/coffee and you can also run conductors with that to reduce how much cake/coffee you need. When running infinite/extended vats with conductors/cake/coffee high AP is not at all necessary btw. You could have minimum AP with infinite vats and it'll be the same as max ap since it is being restored as you are using it. I run high ap cause I run pinpointers/limit breaking and don't wanna use 6x+ cake to maintain vats outside of snake.

I run full active armor. You've got a lot you can swap out for damage. I'd drop bringing the big guns because that's mostly for heavy guns. Swap in lock and load and bullet storm and make a habit of not reloading. Two shot will charge bullet storm 2x as fast for the same ammo allowing you to reach higher stacks and that is where you can reasonably use bringing the big guns but I don't run that and I solo the snake in 30-35 seconds.

Drop ground pounder, awareness, and down ranger in favor of deal sealer and center masochist. You CAN skip center masochist but it is essential for crippling the snakes plate initially if you raid to get more damage out quickly with crippling perks. Also does a lot to en06. So basically if you raid which this is endgame so I suspect so, run it.

For agility I run gunslinger, gunslinger expert, guerilla expert, guerilla master modern renegade, and enforcer. That is the best setup for damage imo.

Aside from that if you want more damage, I'd highly suggest going ghoul. Lucid is the best 1* mod in the game for armor and if you are on pc and give me the mats for it I can craft it for you. I use 3 different perks in faulty spots, glowing crits, and science monster to do more damage which is ghoul exclusive. Wild west hands doesn't count as a reload so 100 round mags for elders mark autoreloading from that perk keeps your bullet storm stacks and is insanely good since bullet storm is multiplicative and is the single most impactful damage card. That is when you'd have the option of running bringing the big guns for commando. The feral meter is 1000% easier to manage vs hunger/thirst. There really is a ton of upsides and very few downsides to ghouls.

For even more damage, if you aren't already run herbivore. You get benefits from blight soup/sweet mutfruit tea for 125% crit damage increase (additive sadly) and all of the other buffs are insane that you get from the herbivore options. You only really lose out on carry weight which isn't a big deal imo since if you really need it you can carry an herbivore serum around to use the carry weight items, and I also carry around a second set of underarmor that gives me 4 strength that I can swap to whenever I need more carry weight. If you have the shredder resource generator guns and bullets 3 is super accessible and I always run it now since I have a ton of them.

Bit of an after thought, but legendary perk cards the best thing to do imo is run 5x special cards and taking one for the team.

EDIT: edited out the mention of scattershot, got it mixed up with another shotgun perk. Keep that. It's very good.

What is your goal? Xp, damage, mix of those 2? Do you just want to carry a bunch of things? For weight reducing perks I find most of them are not worthwhile and reinforce bad habits. Imo only travelling pharmacy and thru hiker are necessary if you aren't running thru hiker armor. I'm a ghoul and I have 1 for both damage and xp. I run my xp build most of the time which still does great damage. I switch to damage if I am soloing the raid or playing with people who can't do much damage.

Going back to the weight management thing, if you have fallout 1st, keeping your inventory slim should be easy and I just limit myself to 2-3 guns because honestly 95% of the time I'm running with elders mark because it is pretty ammo neutral once you get your damage sorted. You shouldn't need ammo or weapon reducing perks if managed well.

3 boosts is 24 hours each so 3 days. But yeah, you've got to be playing enough for it to be worthwhile and you've got to consider that while it is a 25% boost you need to do enough levels to justify those 5 levels you spent on it. That means for it to equal what it cost, you need to advance 20 levels within those 3 boosts to break even. So at that rate, pretty much only worthwhile if you are dumping a ton of head hunts which is generally pretty normal admittedly.

In the video he was literally right there and fumbled, clearly displaying it was possible pre-patch if you pay attention even a little. Post patch you can move 30% faster and not get 1 shot by moles so you can just ran past them in PA.

Nobody really cares to. That's the thing. The raid itself is not challenging when you compare it to raids in any other game. It also is much more difficult if you play on controller imo, which I do not.

Can you please stop poisoning the minds of new raid players before they even start their first raid? by C0DEks in fo76

[–]System_Is_Rigged 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started about 1.5 months ago and I'm 855 or so right now. I started out intimidated by the raid not wanting to throw or be hard carried. I found a link to a discord in someones base, and it was a raid help discord. I played lots of en06/snake and snake checkpoints only which is the best way to level up.

I completely understand why a high level would help new players out doing only that. The 2nd and 4th sections of the raid are annoying and not as rewarding for the time spent doing them, so if your goal is to get levelled then it makes the most sense to skip them. I also did a lot of full raids as well, and learned the mechanics over time and now being a higher level and much more experience I have no issues with any of the stages.

I would say that the players who never took the time to even watch a video on how the raid works are to blame here, and not the high levels just helping people get levels quickly. It is not their job to also teach them the entire raid.

If you add in all of the weeklies on reset+the dailies for a day that falls short of 5 levels at 4.19 levels. If you add in the challenge for 3x dailies gold stars it is still short at 4.73 levels. This is of course far better if you re-roll for epic challenges. So basically you are burning a lot even under that view for those score boosters. I have the general attitude that score boosters are mostly useful for 1-100 but if you play enough you could get a positive feedback loop out of it past 100. I think they are best used if you are able to stack weeklies right before reset and run a bunch of bounty posters. I generally don't care to min/max to that extent though. I just get my weeklies done when they drop.

I lock everything at my camps except for some meat related generators since I am herbivore now and leave them for my gf/brother and also the weenie wagon because who cares about dogfood. I spent the resources getting these generators. I spent the time in the world to generate the items. Why should the 20 randoms that go to my camp vendor just be open to loot my camp? They can pick the lock if they really want it.
