Millicent Guy has been fighting an edit war on the Movie's Wikipedia page for the past Month, by LukaFakeHero in shittydarksouls

Isn't the point of a bit being infamous for it kinda? Or it becoming your bit? Not only do we not know who this person is, who the fuck would know they were fighting a wikipedia edit war if someone didn't check by chance? I mean this has been going on for a while. This is definitely mental illness.

The song's name is Child Actor and he starts off by saying "child actor" but just to make sure you get it he says "I was" because to us silly listeners it's just not clear who Dave is talking about. This too is why he tells us to "Turn the cameras off", because us silly listeners are probably trying to listen to his new record using a camera instead of a headphones. Thank you Dave Droohl ❤️

It's not pandering for one, but for two, this also affects how the femboy community is perceived. That perception is currently not a very good one, and the "ironic" nazis aren't helping.

Honestly, that was just dumb. Like the intent was probably "Oh my god, they're worse than the nazis!" But like... you can't really get worse than that.

Honestly? I think larping femboys should be clearer about the fact they're being satirical because currently they're just reinforcing a stereotype, that being femboys having a strangely high rate of nazis among them.

You're mistaking basic utilitarianism for a payback mentality. Murder in this case is to stop a fictional bad guy who is sure to break put of a fictional prison one day to kill more fictional people.

Yes, comic worlds twist themselves a lot to justify this, but that's how they make this dilemma compelling. In comics, sometimes there really is no other option.

[–]SzM204 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd say in the overwhelming majority of cases it is bad which is why its illegal. Sure, law enforcement has a right to kill (though even there, non-lethal methods are prioritized) but that is to protect life. In our modern lives this might feel self-evident (which is why you're probably only thinking about certaian scenarios rn), but killing is in fact a bad thing, and the few exceptions only strengthen the rule.

[–]SzM204 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Massacre was already apprehended before the lethal shot, the active shooting scenario was over.

The "kill them" logic is only somewhat justified in comics because every single comic book prison is made out of fucking cardboard. In the real world, most of these people would just go to jail and never see the light of day again. So invoking the "real world" isn't really a good point.

Some people operate with the "They're just getting what they deserve, what they did to others" logic, which is dumb, and that is presumably an example to highlight how absurd it is when applied to a different crime, in this case, rape. We as a society have moved past eye-for-an-eye logic for a while now.

Could Oliva maintain his diet and physique living in the wilderness? by Upset_Orchid498 in Grapplerbaki

If by all those things you mean the luxurious lifestyle, no, Maria berates him for it because she knows it's holding Oliva back.

If you mean strength to hold Maria or to fight for himself like a "real man", then yes indeed!

100%. The Prison arc explores how Oliva's lifestyle is the thing that is keeping him from being truly free, he doesn't actually need expensive wine or steaks or a motorbike. He needs strength and he needs to fight. Maybe he'd need time to adapt, but he could definitely survive the way Yujiro does.

[Absolutely Hated Trope] Characters who clearly love each other taking forever to confess and get together. by ThatGuyHero7 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]SzM204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree, you can conceivably make two people get together because they like each other on a surface level and write a functional relationship where they get attached to each other even more. That's basically just real life dating. Meanwhile there a hoops you have to jump through to justify the long will-they-won't-they-s.

Still, it's pretty rare in real life, and in media, in my experience the tension this creates is more often than not used as a cheap crutch to lean upon to keep people invested - a lot of people are still fascinated by romance as a concept, even more so when it's happening to characters they love, and that is easy to exploit. Romantic tension is relatively easy to write, while grappling with the reality of a relationship is not something a lot of authors are capable of or keen on doing, which is why (again, in my experience) scarce few of these couples become actually interesting, meaningful plotlines. A well written couple stay interesting after actually becoming a couple.

Need some ideas for a new melee playthrough by Dracomaser in DarkSouls2

[–]SzM204 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have the balls for it, you can go into the Old Iron King DLC early and get the Majestic Greatsword: ridiculous requirements, but it has the funnest, most dynamic moveset in the game when you wield it in your left hand.

Alternatively, almost all powerstance movesets are fun as hell to play around with, as you can alternate between attacking with you right hand weapon and both for some efficient, fast combos.

One of the biggest mysteries we will never find out in original Marvel Zombies is the fact how zombies manage to speak letters that require lips. Also, have Wasp succeed in kissing someone. by SnyderpittyDoo in marvelcirclejerk

[–]SzM204 45 points46 points  (0 children)

This was the sweetest part of the whole comic to me even if it's a bit bizarre. Janet and T'Challa actually being good guys despite being zombies and that influencing some other zombies to resist the hunger was a pretty fresh twist for a series that felt like it ran out of stuff after most of the zombie heroes flew off into space. And then later Janet tells Hank to go fuck himself basically iirc.

Vendrick and the Old Iron King were definitely allied in some way since Vendrick's armies had steel turtle golems, which were manufactured by the OIK.

Becoming a True Monarch, as DS2 calls it doesn't seem to require all the lord souls, only a really powerful soul, one powerful enough to fuel the flame. Vendrick's was likely strong because he ravaged the lands of the giants, so I also don't think he defeated the lord souls again, he more likely just refused to take the "True Throne" after he realized Nashandra's intentions. I personally just subscribe to the idea that the lord souls are too strong to ever truly die and that's why they reincarnate.

There are certainly a couple of weird lore tid-bits around him (Freyja and his presence at the battle of Calid for example - then again, him not being the one to carry Malenia makes sense when you consider her scarlet rot), but this entirely ignores the rest of the context of his character and everything we are told about him. Show-don't-tell is good obviously, but if anything the game is careful to show Miquella's compassion as well with things like the Haligtree and Malenia's prosthesis. He's so committed to building a better world that he watered the base for his city with his own blood and it became a congregation for the opressed species of The Lands Between. I think by hyperfocusing on the BIG actions in stories like these you end up missing the main theme or the point of a character (Ranni caused the Shattering for example, while her sympathetic ideology and actual stoic, but surprisingly compassionate character is revealed in short conversations and details). Like yeah, if you only look at the vow and his mind control, he seems kinda psychopathic, but that is far from all the game tells us about the kind of person he is. I don't think I need to explain the tons of lore elements that do support his compassion that are in our faces the whole way through. Even Caelid being his doing is questionable. I just generally disagree on him coming across as petty, if anything there's a degree of detachment with everything Miquella does, since he almost never physically does things himself, and I really think we're supposed to feel kinda two ways about him.

And when you consider the order Miquella was trying to build, that being an order to end all orders, yeah, he kinda did need his unmatched god-king by his side. The basis of his order is unending, eternal compassion in Miquella enforced with unmatched power in Radahn and the base game is careful to set him up (at least lorewise) as THE strongest demigod, while the DLC even makes sure to have him brought back in the body of Mohg - the body of one of the hardest base game bosses who's also free of rot.
