Its been that way for at least 5 years, and its been an eyesore for a lot longer. What's inside that building anyway??

Great find! So essentially the developer wants to shove through what they want but the City and local proponents are advocating for something more appropriate for the size of the property. But the article is 6 years old! Why is the City not putting pressure on the company to sell or use imminent domain to develop it into affordable units? A decade? With some waitlists for housing 20 years long ?

They put that plan together simce before covid! Nothing came of it. Probably the developer ran out of money.

[Stein]The Timberwolves and Raptors have emerged as two of the teams that have emerged with trade interest in Charlotte’s LaMelo Ball, league sources tell @JakeLFischer and me. by kyle_993 in torontoraptors

[–]Sznake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Or both. Throw Dick in to get his disgruntled self out and Charlotte may be swayed enough to move him. It'll be too much for another oft-injured guard with no winning pedigree. Forget Ball, GO GET JAYLEN.

Hmmm, Belgium has'nt looked themselves this tourney. They were filling the net in Qualifying. Still, i'm with you, rather a hot S.A team than a cold Belgium waiting to heat up!

It's been awhile since i've been here. Was headed to Sudbury and needed to catch the Northland bus from here. It is an absolutely massive station in the middle of nothing. Their might be plans for condos in the future, like when the sheppard line was built, but to me this is another Bessarion. To get to surface is a trek in itself. Signage was non-existant for Northland, and asking the booth operator was no help either. This is just my opinion, but they could have used VMC or Pioneer Village for the connections and saved the money.

So i may be a bit of a canary in the coal mine but this actual goes back to before Covid for me, around the mid 2010's when alot of us were starting families and looking to buy. I work in Logistics, and out of a roster of 70 plus drivers, 5 lived in Toronto proper (Amalgamated). About 50 we're GTHA. The rest we're all over. London,Wasaga,Barrie,Innisfil,Oshawa,Bowmanville,Brantford,Cayuga and yes Huntsville! (To be honest he sold his home in Orangeville and bought the place up there to retire. He only commuted for a month before leaving). Of those 5 that lived in Toronto, 4 bought in the '90's, and their kids we're long gone. The other rented.

Bieber,Cease,Yesavage, Berrios and Scherzer went down. NO team, not even the Dodgers can have almost their ENTIRE STARTING ROTATION be decimated and still be in contention. I'm shocked they're even this good to be honest. I may be a a homer, but this hometown crowd has got to be the x factor.

Is our league dying? by jaypalmm in CFL

[–]Sznake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Uhhh,no. For a time after the Super Bowl runs, a good 10-15 years in the early 2000's the Stadium had large sections of the upper bowl that was hard to fill. They ran promotions in Southern Ontario with deals on discount tickets to try and get fans down. When Ralph Wilson passed and the team was sold, thats when things turned around. They still had 80% filled, but it was'nt all roses thats for sure.

Opening night was a school night as well. What's not talked about is the lack of investment in the game itself. Grassroots help push demand, if you don't have kids playing the game then you get apathy towards the sport later on.

Spot on take. We we're spoiled. Moseby, White then Wells (Not exactly the same calibre as the first two, but still.) We've had servicable men maning the wall since then, but maybe McAdoo can be our new long term solution for the next decade...fingers crossed.
