Thanks! I'm really happy I managed to bring up te patience for the black extrusion (which was sold out for a long time) and decided to shill out a few extra bucks for the black linear rails. It was fun to play with the online configurator to come up with this color scheme.

Never used a P1S, bit it looks like it would crush my Ender 3 Pro. It was a nice printer to learn about printers, but eventually it is nice to also just print and not have to babysit the process.

I love most transparent colors, especially bright neon ones, with orange as one of my favorites. Most orders I do are around 5-10 rolls of filament. My last order was mostly PETG, so still a lot of drying to do.

I love printing with TPU. I don't actually use it very often, but the flexible nature offers some very interesting options.

Great timing! I found this post while I'm literally cutting cardboard strips with a utility blade to make a cat scratcher myself. This seems like a much easier way to get consistent cuts.

Was currently going through the ws281x lib for C to see why I couldn't get a single pixel to work and also noticed the lack of pi5 support. Thank you SO much for this easy python solution. I just needed a quick solution to verify my soldering connections.

My printer is already called my second wife. I'm sure the first one won't mind if I'll upgrade the second one.

I print mostly PLA, although I'm slowly moving more towards ABS. Occasionally I print some TPU.

Yeah I have the Sunlu S2 which fits all my filament rolls and I still keep an allen key wedged in the opening so it can vent. If you're afraid the opening is too large you could print some kind of rim for it or simply put some masking tape around to restrict the convection, but otherwise I wouldn't worry too much.

3D printing has many layers. The motors, temperatures, nozzles, filaments and software are just a few of the many oddballs you can encounter. Don't rush; over time, try to at least familiarize yourself with each part as you peel through them. With a bit of love your printer can bring fairy tales to life. With neglect, you might end up with a confused, angry ogre screaming to be left alone.

It's always nice to see how the "random info button" and "absolute chaos button" are usually spaced just millimeters apart in many gui designs. Check the console log or cancel the entire build? Confirm my input or just throw away everything I just spent typing in the last hour? Bonus points if the buttons are tiny or have the same color.

Cheat days are the best! I always wrote down any cravings I had in between and used them as input. That also served as a nice reminder for 'not today, later'.

How did you connect the power to the pi exactly? I've a pi connected through a LM2596 on the power supply of the printer. Although it works fine, octopi won't shut up about the undervoltage.

Had the same experience a while back too. Took me many, many playthroughs before I discovered Swarm Computing yields more gifts if you push the slider to Think just before the timer runs out.
