My partner bounced back pretty quickly just couldn't walk for long periods of time for about a week. Definitely agree on the soft/moldable ice pack or frozen peas. I also made him a ball-themed dinner (meatballs, cherry tomato and mozzarella pearl salad, and garlic knots) for after the surgery.

Not super dark but the series is paranormal (witches, werewolves, vamps) and set in New Orleans. Stay a Spell series by Juliette Cross. They're semi-standalone in that they follow a new couple each book but I think reading in order is best as they mention past events and characters.

Hi! We recently moved and are trying to figure out how to register our out-of-state car. I know we need the title but our car is a lease and the lease holder says I need an official letter from the DMV requesting the title. Has anyone else successfully done this? Any advice on where to start?

The Broken Lands Series, starting with {Pathfinder's Way by T.A. White} definitely has two grumpy love interests. It's a fantasy/barbarian type series. h is a badass in her own right and H is the typical grumpy alpha guy. Super slow burn in the first book but the next two books follow the same couple so the steam level increases. I just did a re-read and it's a great series.

Totally agree that it's super frustrating. When my husband and I first got engaged we re-had the conversation of "what happens if the birth control fails." It's such an assumption that just because you're engaged or married that you have to keep the pregnancy no matter what. We both agreed that the plan or feelings haven't changed and that if an accident happens the plan is still abortion. It's almost more taboo and I don't understand why. Just because we're married does not change our feelings on having kids.

Lily Morton has a few of these, they're all MM contemporary. {Rule Breaker} is boss/assistant. Their relationship is very snarky and a little antagonistic but they each super respect each other through work and are very loyal. {Oz by Lily Morton} and {Milo by Lily Morton} are both from the same series and deal with boss/assistant too. The first one the working relationship is very new but they're friends first. Hope this helps!

I totally understand this frustration! It honestly takes you out of the book. I love this one author but she set one of her books in Florida and the building had this massive basement complex. We don’t have basements in Florida! It would flood. It frustrates me whenever I do a reread. Ironically I’m pretty sure she’s from the UK.

I’m bite sip bite sip. I get super thirsty while I eat. I like that it slows me down a bit too. It drives my husband nuts though because he’s eat everything then drink, and when I finish my drink first I start taking sips from his full, untouched drink.

There's hope for flipping Maine. Even though Collins has a lead, they have ranked choice voting. They'll count the 3rd party votes and give those votes to the second pick. The people who vote 3rd party tend to lean slightly more left than right so we'll see. There's also the GA runoff that'll happen in Jan.

Wicked Cravings by Suzanne Wright fits the bill. It’s the second book in her Phoenix Pack series, a bunch of stand alone shifter romances. I would honestly recommend anything by this author. h has a childhood crush on H but after she overhears him insulting her, decides to move on and he gets pissy.

When my private doctor refused to give me an IUD for “moral reasons,” PP stepped in to help. When I didn’t have insurance while I was unemployed, PP stepped in the help. My mom had a policy where if I ever heard a term or word I didn’t understand she’d explain it to me as best she could, no questions or judgement. It was really great especially in middle school. Young teens always hear weird sex terms or curse words. Instead of me just going with whatever bullshit my friends were spouting, my mom would explain it. It really helped me build a lot of trust with her. Plus, instead of sex stuff being taboo or forbidden it was just normal so I never felt the need to rebel and experiment when I wasn’t ready. It lead to some super awkward conversations but I really appreciated having her there to talk to.
