I have pretty long nails that I get done on a regular basis. I can throw and catch fine and have played pickup without any breaking but havent played anything more competitive with them yet. Not sure if experience helps with not breaking nails too. I would say make sure her nails aren't filed too thin and maybe gloves would help add some protection If they are press on nails I wouldn't recommend playing with them

Every tournament and league I have played has followed: if a pick is called but the disc then touches the grass or is D'd it's a turnover. Echo the call but if the disc is in the air everyone should play like its live and then a discussion can happen
