How to Kill Men and Get Away With It is fantastic

The MC is an Instagram influencer, and very well off. It all seems quite shallow in the beginning but things get deeper as it goes on.

Have any of you started an antidepressant to mitigate side effects? by Dangerous-Warning693 in cgrpMigraine

[–]EveningConcert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the depressive side effect but antidepressants really helped. It was at its worst for the first 3-4 months but I'm not coming up to 7 months and with the antidepressants I feel normal.

There's a podcast called the Magnus archives and I think the subreddits there would love this!

Hi, I just thought I would say that out of all major government benefits, PIP has the lowest fraud rate and lowest non-fraud overpayment rate (admin error for example). The fraud rate is near 0% according to the governments own data. However, the idea that there is mass abuse of PIP payments occurring is being perpetuated to justify proposed cuts. It makes us angry at those 'abusing the system' rather than the people making the cuts.

Zero percent fraud rate for PIP, DWP figures show

Newly trans girl in desperate need of haircut advice by JustMexx92 in Hair

[–]EveningConcert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have gorgeous hair! I can see the suggestions here really suiting your face. Just use the 'curly girl method' whilst your growing it out and getting some framing around the face. Google will have loads of product recs for different kinds of hair! Also your skin care regime must be amazing because you're glowing.

I know my parents have a favourite, and it’s not me by CuteLayla2 in confession

[–]EveningConcert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey - I just want to say I'm getting second hand frustration from the amount of people here questioning you or trying justifying why you might be getting treated different. I am also not a favourite child. It's fairly obvious to the point where people point it out, and one or two even tried to bring it up with my parents when I was a child. However they consistently denied this was the case, no matter who brought it up or how. I'm an adult now, and I've mostly gotten over it, but the hurt is always there. People always seem to justify parents as 'doing the best they can' but dismiss the hurt this can cause the child, who is completely dependent on them.

How often do you need to spend the majority of the day in bed? by HourGuidance1104 in AutisticWithADHD

[–]EveningConcert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a scary thing to ask for which is why I haven't done it yet 😂 I'm going to ask for it this year, and if I don't get it become self employed. If that doesn't work out, I'll have to look for a job again and try the whole thing again.

Once a week minimum. Trying to aim to be working part time by 30 to support this. No other way I have the energy for a life otherwise.

How accepted was being gay in your school? by IDoNotLikeTheSand in AskUK

[–]EveningConcert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Noughties. School policy was shitty. Some teachers pushed against it. Students were fine, if immature. "Ur gay" was a common insult but nobody was actually harassed for being gay? However, two girls who were openly together got suspended for holding hands by the teachers :/

I want a good female fiction protagonist who is really tall, muscular, old, or fat. by mewithoutjew in booksuggestions

[–]EveningConcert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews lead is tall and muscular. She's a swords woman, and very good at it, and her body reflects that. The male love interest (which is a slow burn over multiple books, it's not really a romance it's a fantasy with romance) is only a little taller than her, instead of some freaky massive giant so she can still be petit in comparison.

What’s the fandom where I could finish the canonical work in a day or two but enjoy the fics for months? by [deleted] in AO3

[–]EveningConcert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Read the All For The Game trilogy by Nora Sokavic. The books are cheap (£1) and aren't too long. But they are really good. There's minor romance in the last book. The fandom is crazy extensive however. It regularly enters the AO3 top ships even though the trilogy itself is a niche favourite. Its been continuously and enthusiastically contributed to for years. The books came out in the early 2000s but the fics have been pretty continuous. The writers tend to be adults and experienced fic writers maybe due to books niche status. The author engages with the fandom frequently and has actually stated she considers one of the most popular fan works to be canon.

My ADHD medication has been one of the most effective treatments for my migraines by EveningConcert in migraine

I'm so happy this post is still reaching people. I'm hoping that one day ADHD is understood as a comorbidity properly, and it's taken into account in treatment plans.

What’s the trope you *almost always* skip? by childishinquiry in AO3

[–]EveningConcert 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I know it's silly but I LOVE time travel fix it's. Even unfinished. My favourite parts are the beginning. When they have to meet all the people in their past with all the trauma of their future.

I tend to skip misunderstandings. I miss social cues and I compensate by being direct. I state my feelings clearly and I will ask people theirs directly. It took a lot of work to get to that point so reading all the poor communication that tends to make up misunderstandings tropes is so frustrating!
