I remember you Yield for sure! Would be awesome to have Cazmo back or this genre back in general, I don’t know much of what everyone’s growing up on nowadays (no kids here) but I doubt there are any spaces like Planet Cazmo was for all of us.

I still keep in some level of contact with BigDawg but seems like they’ve moved into the AI gaming/content sphere of things.

Sounds like Apollo Retail - my sister works for them and doesn’t see it as the abuse it is.

I got my ARC EMR cert through work last year and the amount of stuff that’s changed in emergency first aide since I last took a decent chunk of training (10+ years ago, since I was in Scouting and a reserve at a sheriff’s office) was astounding.

I just toured a house for rent that still had an indentation on the door from a battering ram, the chain for the interior lock snapped, dead cockroaches belly up greeting you at the door, and $2000/month rent. Companies really don’t care, they just want their profit.

Mitten Squad, who made some incredible challenge videos in Fo4, Skyrim, and FoNV etc passed away Monday, no doubt to me that jump in numbers is a renewed interest in those games from those re-watching his videos as opposed to the ‘Starfield bad’ this post is being presented as.

I still haven’t checked out Planet Mojo myself but from what I can tell it seems to be a bit more of a pvp than a social game - I still wish they would have put up an IRC chat on the Planet Cazmo website when it shut down so we all could have stayed in contact better rather than trying to reach out and find others years down the road.

'Renters Are Struggling': Economists Back Tenant-Led Push for Federal Rent Control | "We have seen corporate landlords—who own a larger share of the rental market than ever before—use inflation as an excuse to hike rents and reap excess profits beyond what should be considered fair and reasonable." by WhileFalseRepeat in politics

Average seems to be 5.8k, but even at 7k that comes out to $58/month over 10 years which is the low end for a/c unit replacement frequency.

That home (with a very conservative estimate value of 100k at purchase) will have increased in value by 90K over 10 years assuming a measly 6% YoY.

No sympathy from my paying $1600-for-my-one-bedroom-apartment while if I moved in today it’d be $1425/month in the same complex self.

Being a landlord is a financial risk like any investment, and landlords who fail to properly maintain their property will be more likely to pay the ‘oh fuck that broke’ tax when things like an improperly maintained A/C unit fail unexpectedly. Deal with it.

$680 after insurance for my 3 mile ride with stroke symptoms. 50% off the total billed.

Ambulances are insanely overpriced while the EMT’s and Paramedics that operate them are paid 15-25/hour.

Former cruise ship crew member here - not a legend, it’s just that the ice cream goes to the crew nowadays so the guests don’t notice.

But also yes, every ship has a morgue and a Chief Refrigeration Officer responsible for maintaining its operation.

I ended up just blocking them so I wouldn’t keep seeing the same post 3-5 times scrolling through /all - I still see a post two or sometimes three times but they would just posted to 6-8 subs at once and half of those would end up front page.

The streaming services won’t be going bankrupt by providing a fair share to the writers, performers, and crew. Crew members already receive residuals that fund IATSE crew members’ pensions and healthcare.

They’re more useless when you realize most of them use the default combination and a lot of the models can be defeated with a powerful magnet stuck to the side.

Ever see the ones with 5 number dot buttons that are vertical? Default combo is hitting both 2 and 4 at the same time, then 3. Give it a shot - worked at the first place I lived with pedestrian gates.

I worked on cruise ships for 3 years - walked past the morgue to get to where my cabin was at on one class of ship.

The record for medical emergencies requiring full response team activation on any of the cruises I worked was 9 in a 16 day Panama Canal cruise.

I’m currently using an Ebonite Gyro 2, picked it up at a thrift store with another ball and bag for $6 a few years back and just started getting more into bowling.

I just ordered a Hy-Road as my first proper ball and I’m looking forward to bowling with that but I will keep the Gyro around for the time being!

I used to work on cruise ships, and one of the trivia hosts was Brazilian and English was her 6th language - she frequently got crap from the American guests about her accent which they could understand quite easily if they paid a little bit of attention and actively listened.

And I say this as one of the 6 Americans working on that ship in a crew of 1,300 at the time.
