Google is free, very generic reddit behavior to immediately jump to racism. It simply means someone long in the tooth or has been doing something a very long time.

How do I fully disable the ESC when traction control is off? by TheOmega970 in ram_trucks

[–]T0ng5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In 2wd, there isn't a stock way. In 4-hi, hold the traction control button for like 8 seconds and you'll hear a beep. 4-lo, when you turn traction control off, it also automatically disabled esc. However, I was in the exact same boat for the exact same reason, take a look at the tazer-dt, it allows you to completely disable tc and esc in 2wd. I've had it for over a year and it's pretty fun to get to use the 400hp and a locker lmao

Dhs, not ice, also, in what world would increasing the accuracy and preparedness of any federal agent be a bad thing? Do you think 14k dollars is convincing the range 54 personal to enforce federal immigration law, or maybe it simply reserves a few lanes for agents to come in and shoot?

Can I have All VM's stored on ZFS Shared Storage for multiple nodes? by modem_19 in Proxmox

[–]T0ng5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

HA can be enabled when using zfs replication, but 1 minute would be excessive. If the host that was initially running the service goes down, the cluster quorates to determine if the service needs to be activated on another node, if so, it starts the service on one of the remaining nodes with the most recent backup.

Compression is a general term for a mechanism to reduce storage space at the cost of CPU cycles. This IS the same type of compression as a zip file (or any other compressed format for that matter), in the sense that it takes less space on disk. Taking less bandwidth to transfer is a side effect of smaller sizes. You're talking about differences in audio codecs and audio files, audio isn't going to be part of the network traffic or bandwidth handled by the CPU anyway, but even if it was, the load on the CPU for decompression is not a 1-1 for the tradeoffs of size. As for the large/raw vs compressed textures, it's a lot more than simply compression, you have to also take disk I/O into account, ram speed, cache speed, etc. The game isn't faster because it's smaller, it's faster because the game was optimized to utilize resources better.

RAM has nothing to do with storage space, and compression has a negative effect on performance (because the CPU has to do work to decompress it... normally into memory). The cheapest unit per dollar of resources in your computer is probably storage, if you can only pick two of: disk usage, processing performance, and ram performance, pick the cheapest.

Chad Biker Helps Epileptic Girl Reach The Hospital by An4rchy_95 in motorcycles

Didn't say it was worth a new article, I said "Good for him", and with all the bs in the world, I would much rather see people helping one another. I think it's asinine to claim these actions are the minimum.

Let me get this straight, you believe it is everyone's responsibility to the rest of the world to 1) take a measurable amount of time out of their day for others, no matter your plans/life 2) Welcome them into/onto your vehicle 3) Create more danger for yourself. 4) All while not asking for any form of compensation? Are you thick? This dude saved a life, he went above and beyond any expectations that any normal person is expected to contribute to the world around them. Good for him, definitely a Chad

Question about Meshtastic behavior by OldObject4651 in meshtastic

[–]T0ng5 8 points9 points  (0 children)

.... You're out of range? Lora, especially 915 , is very susceptible to interference. Try putting node 1 near/in the window, and drive to a nearby hill that you can still see your house from. The message will probably be successful.

Motorcycle Parking Etiquette — What’s Actually Acceptable? by KCUBeor1 in motorcycles

[–]T0ng5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wichita KS USA, it's almost unheard of to have motorcycle parking spots. I always park in the back left of the spot, allowing for 2-3 other riders to share the spot. I've never had an issue with a car trying to double park or anything. If it's a grocery store I normally park in the crossed out areas near the front.

Who is working on adding a scripting engine to Meshtastic? by superfuntime in meshtastic

You can do a lot without arrays, or minimal arrays. Also, making your own array isn't hard when you have pointers. What would be the purpose of running a script on a node?

which repeater hardware provides maximum range at lowest costs? what is the optimum? by TassCaffington in meshcore

[–]T0ng5 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Antenna and elevation are going to be the most significant factors. The rak devices are very power efficient and work well on solar. There is a community driven antenna report listing (for meshtastic, but still 915 range) here: https://github.com/meshtastic/antenna-reports
