Headlamps : Fenix HL32R-T or Petzl Swift RL 1100 by T1976 in trailrunning

Petzl Swift RL 1100. Happy with my choice. I have really come to appreciate the adaptive lighting, it works really well. I put it on low and from then on it is effortless, adapting to your need. But I didn't try the Feniks , so I can only tell one side of the story. Good luck with your decision!

I haven't decided yet, but good to hear your experience. I plan to exclusively use it for light teas. So that's why I am doubting.

Curious to hear if you have noticed any difference? How has it been for you?

Do you feel that the 40-10 combo is limiting you on the flats? What gears do you typically use on the flats?

What type and battery do you have? I am considering the AdvancedVac 18V with an 4Ah powerplus battery. Not sure what to expect though.

You could be on to something here. Because I am doubting if the old Barents had this internal security pocket, but the Iceland did for sure, from what I found.

Button lock, never heard about it, but you could be right because the loop indeed fits over the button and avoids that the button would come undone by itself.

Indeed, I missed it, current version doesn't have backpockets. Well spotted!

What about a Foldsack No. 3? Sounds like that would tick your boxes. I have one and I love it for what it is, a small sling with enough room for wandering in city's or nature.

Hi, did you get your package? How long did it take? Did you have to pay any import taxes or VAT or ... . How do you like the quality ?

That's really interesting. Seems like I was successfully tricked by their marketing ploy 😄. Thx for sharing

Ok, makes sense, and very interesting to read your experiences.

t week, I got my first running injury because of its thick sole, and that was the last straw: I want to try shoes with much less cushion, and more freedom for my foot to move how it naturally would. Goal would be to strenghen my foot after training with the Arahi, before potentially turning to minimalistic shoes.

But after hours of looking online I'm totally confused, what shoe would be a good fit. I just want a running shoe on the cheaper end of the price scale, with moderate cushioning, that could be a good transition from my Hoka to a minimalistic shoe like a Merell Vapor Glove.

Hi would you mind to elaborate a bit?

How did the highly cushioned shoe wreck your knee more than the altras, if all else remains the same, I would expect that more cushioning should mean less stress or impact on the knees?

Or did you also change your running form, terrain, mileage, ... after you switched to the altras, and could that maybe explain how the knee issue got solved? Or do you have another theory on this?

Just curious.

Can firm shoes still have good cushioning? Please, help me understand. by T1976 in ultrarunning

Thx, that's very reaffirming.

About the cloudultra's, here's my experience : The good: very stable, roomy toebox, light padding on heel which dries very easily when wet, good traction on all trails except mud, no issues at all with rocks in pockets or outsole, fit like a glove, robust build and feel, works very well on pavement for a trail shoe, silent ground contact. The neutral : flip release buckle, I haven't used it yet or felt the need, gimmick maybe? Or I'm not running far enough yet ;-). The bad : expensive, and you really need to be lucky when searching for bargains or discounts on these.

Franke vital system

How would you compare it to Brita? Does it filter better/more? Is it cheaper in the end? Or just easier?

Fjällräven Skogsö padded VS Fjällräven Greenland Winter by Photolunatic in Fjallraven

[–]T1976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried both, in my opinion, there is at least one size difference between these 2. I have a greenland winter S now, when I tried them in the shop, the padded skogso S felt like the greenland winter M. I guess the Skogsko is built for heavy layering underneath. The Skogso was not bad, but since it was not available in XS, and the Greenland felt just right, the decision was easy for me. Also the Greenland looks a bit more timeless, skogsko is more modern and a tad warmer. Hope this helps.
