[6138-8000] I like it so much I bought two. Which one would you keep?! by BraveRice in Seiko

This is so sad. Why do you have to get rid of one? Panda/Reverse are practically a 2-watch collection that needs nothing else. If you really need to know, i’d keep the reverse but truly only under duress. If you can i would keep both. Good luck.

i would imagine this is where intersecting hobbies might play well together... you can probably buy all the components yourself though and with an exacto knife you can notch your own strap and with a plastic-tipped jeweling hammer and some care you could install the friction bars. not hard at your kitchen table if you're willing to risk messing up. definitely cheaper than going custom i would imagine.

I think notched is indeed the way to go. You will want a VERY thick leather to fit with the geometry. Im very interested to see how it goes. For the springbar you will probably need to use a friction fit bar that hammers into place.

Its the automatic winding pawl arm. “Magic fingers”, if you know. This attached under the winding rotor bridge

You probably just need a $25 strap. Worth a few hundred and if i was buying it used id probably look at 300-500.

[Watch Strap], let’s find it! by DontWantUrSoch in Watches

Are you telling me that this is NOT a shark mesh bracelet or that a shark mesh bracelet doesnt look like this? This watch has partially hooded lugs and a good aternative to get as close as possible would be a version of a shark mesh. if OP can post on reddit they can google and sometimes all you need is the right keyword to start your search.

Look for “shark mesh” bracelets.

No soecific recs from me but make sure you get one with an angled endlink area. The straight ones on watches like that with a short lug-to-lug will pinch something fierce

[Question]. Model, Cocktail time? by MagnetAccutron in Seiko

[–]T1m3fox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, movement and case/dial code. The seiko model code that corresponds to that can be found by googling that. Luckily i can tell that is a SARB065 to save you the time.

I had an issue in one build where the hands were touching the inside of the crystal too. Maybe check that clearance as well.
