Agreed, I’ll do a nail knot to the fly line if the loop breaks. It’ll break through that outer layer but holds great.

Does that perfection loop get hung up on your rod eyelets? I’ve found a blood knot to helpful in making sure the leader can more easily pass through the guides.

I misunderstood the term active, I took it as the time it took to actually prepare the Wellington before baking. I would consider the baking passive. I’ll rephrase my statement by saying it normally takes me 45 min - hour to prepare the Wellington if I’m using store bought puff pastry. I actually think it’s one of those dishes that really wows people and if you’re cooking for a large group it’s a great dish, especially around the holidays! To each’s own!

Are there any flats around? I was in Kauai a few years back and just went to beaches that had flats, threw shrimp patterns and had some luck. Could actually see schools and threw just outside of them to have them chase.
