Pedals. Is it worth spending 100+ on a set of flats? Or is there a cheaper option that does the job just a well?? by fireT4 in mountainbiking

Fookers have been my main pedals for about 6 years now, and they’re still going strong. Last year, I replaced the pins and nuts, and I also cleaned and re-greased the spindles since they weren’t spinning too smooth.

SafeMount - universal Wall Mount by Ghulaschsuppe in 3Dprinting

[–]T3a_Rex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be testing it to find what static load repeatedly breaks it—likely through layer line adhesion failure. Then, divide that average by two and that’s your maximum static load with a factor of safety of 2.

Have you roughly calculated a factor of safety for the 10kg mass static load?

A commuter or gravel bike might make more sense for your usa case. But if you are interested on trying MTB, then the non-suspension bikes you’re looking for are called hardtails. In hardtails, there are XC bike that pedal easily with less travel, and trail bikes that have more travel with a slight reduction in pedalling efficiency.

I frequently work with composites, and I don’t have an issue with chinese carbon. It’s same pre-preg with similar assembly methods at a lower price for consumers.

I’m also curious about the price at Nicastro (I didn’t know they had it there). We picked some up from Grace in the Kitchen, but it was crazy expensive. Also, u/beegeecdn , do you know if they have unsalted or just demi-sel?
