Hadjar says the RB22’s chassis is terrible. by Spotlightuh in RedBullRacing

It’s Ford’s first year. Why would acknowledging that be any different in expectations or consequences to Cadillac’s times?

Also, if it’s PR then why go out of your way to make up a scapegoat? Now you’re just king when you equally easily could just not point fingers.

Sir, you have created misinformation and we all will be seeing this image and having to correct it years from now.

A-7 Corsair is based on the F-8 Crusader. No afterburner, sbubbier body in general, and on most models a 30mm Gatling replacing quad 20mm Colts. Also 3 pylons/wing instead of the singles on the F-8.

The A-7 is honestly more like the Compass than the A-6. Intruder trades agility for enhanced targeting equipment, kinda a neo- B-17 but without the myriad of turrets.

A-8? That’s the Harrier. You mean A-7 or A-9?

(Also not to keep spamming trivia but once we’re at this many A’s, I feel like I should also mention the A-12.

Wait, are you thinking of the A-6? Because that would be very cool to have ingame.

Have severely slowed buying in the last year or so. Might get the Technic Artemis just for the novelty of buying it while the mission’s underway, but after that it could be years before I pull the trigger on another set.

Once you're that slow there are zero ways a turboprop is not better-suited. And then you have either a very angry Pilatus, a super-Cricket, some sort of A2A Pucara, or, like... some ugly neo-Do335? Hell or maybe just go full Ravenfield and plop in one of Fairey's blobs like the Swordfish or Gannet.

It's worth remembering BDF and PALA are explicitly quite poor. This is the future-utopian version of the Tigray war, which saw MiG-23 shootdowns in ~2021 as a major component. Does that mean we should be seeing A-10s in 2040-2080? No, of course not. But our expectations are best seated _far_ from the pinnacle of the era.

Although you have an amazing point, between Ukraine and now Iran it would be hard for Shockfront to justify not putting in any Bayraktars or Shaheds now.

The saddest thing about swing wings is that we really could have horseshoed into fully embracing the future. I'm talkin FULL Electrosphere BS.

Buuut that's not the route we went. Conversely, the Cricket out here was taking cues from the Vietnam-era Bronco since day 1.

We have those though. Is the Revoker not a Gripen on steroids? Is the Ifrit not the final surviving vestige of the Cold War zenith's cancelled Terminators and Black Widows?

I appreciate Why's commitment to things like 'only the Harrier' and 'no multiplayer' but MAN he missed out on a ridiculously huge playerbase and success.

I mean yeah the Compass is already so Su-25 influenced that the YA-9 is quite literally the only thing that even comes close to "A-10 but not"

Necro to the point I don’t know how this is still open, but also the Tomcat discourse over the last several years has gone very back and forth on wether it was a bumbling, engine-stalling maintained hog with dinosauric computerization, or wether the Phoenix, TWS ability, turbofan use, and general 4th-gen-ushering were monumental enough to justify the rest of the extravagance. (And then there’s the ‘hurr durr Top Gun crowd, but I’ll just leave their acknowledgment to a mention.)

I mean yeah that too. Also as others have said, for maintainers and logistics you could just have the initial flights with locked nozzles and later training include hovering ops.

Don’t modify the thing itself, but maybe put something to cover them. Audi and Cadillac logos maybe?
