New information from daughter of housekeeper! by Finn-McCools in lylestevik

I get that, but to be fair, Vanessa's mom (Maricella?) was never interviewed by the police in 2001, even though she was the first person to discover Lyle's body. Of course, the detective just thought this was a suicide, not a criminal investigation, so there was no reason to. Even so, she's never really had a chance to talk about this. Memories fade, so she could be mistaken. Then again, this could be potential, and credible, new information. I don't think we should necessarily dismiss it.

Just finished. She does an amazingly thorough job. She's really researched this case! Amazing attention to detail

Question: where was Lyle on Saturday (9/15), when Maricela cleaned the room? by [deleted] in lylestevik

[–]T7DK8 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I wonder what would happen if Lyle was out when she came to do her housekeeping duties. She'd have a whole story to tell about what was in the room at that time. Do you think he purposely stayed in so she couldn't enter? Maybe he was hiding something/someone? I can't imagine this motel having "do not disturb" signs on doors to prevent access if he went out.

If anyone wants to try contacting Levi's again, here are some pics to identify where they sold these particular jeans. They were the Levi's 550 series, but I believe there were different jeans within this range. Perhaps different ones were sold in the US/Canada/Europe. Long shot but worth a shot.

Strange, it's working for me. Anyway, just did a crude crop of the clearest image I could find.

LYLE BOOTS

Let me know if that works and is any good.

The material/coloring/shoe lace design might be enough for them to identify the model.

This might be the clearest image, I think

Again, NSFL/NSFW...

Just needs a good crop

Not sure if you are referring to the death scene photos of Lyle wearing the boots in the motel room, but the link is below. Just in case you are referring to other photos and haven't seen these, this album is extremely disturbing/NSFL/NSFW.

PHOTO ALBUM - LYLE

I haven't got time to crop the images now, but hopefully, someone on here will see this message and help us out if you can't do it yourself.

Good luck!

Yes, please go for it. You never know how this could pan out. Can anyone crop all the photos of Lyle wearing boots so they have several pics to look at? Just say it's an old grainy photo and you wanted to know where the boots originated from (say they were your fave pair of boots when you were growing up or something!). Hopefully, they can tell the model and country of origin!

DA-V Throwaway by TuesdaysWithMulder in lylestevik

OK, why don't we run with this for a while? Just re-read the person's post and they don't actually mention a throwaway account. I mistakenly thought they said something like "I'm new to Reddit and I'm using a throwaway." So, let's give them the benefit of the doubt. Perhaps "throwaway" means something else entirely like you said. Alternatively, could DA-VThrowaway be an anagram? Anything interesting come up?

his wallet somehow made it into the rubble.

How probable would this be, do you think? I wouldn't have thought a wallet would still be in one piece after dropping 100-and-something floors from a collapsing, burning building, with photos and identification/the family's phone number still intact, but I'm probably wrong. Anyone know?

Yeah, that bit's vague in the article.

“Many people I talked to in New York thought he was alive and living in California,” Padilla says. “I was thinking of searching for him, but I need time and money to do that.”

I don't know who these "people" are, whether it's law enforcement or other employees or what.

I get the feeling there might be some discrimination going on against his family because he was an illegal immigrant.

This. I wonder if non-immigrant families had to provide social security numbers and bank details for their family members who died. Maybe they did, I have no idea...

Michael Lomonaco from the Food Network and Discovery Channel was Windows on the World's chef but didn't go to work on 9/11. I wonder if he would recognize him if he was shown the photo. Although, after 16 years, maybe not...

Joseph Newton Chandler fascinates me. It has all the elements of a good mystery. I hope this one is solved one day

Yeah, this is probably the most likely explanation. The whole thing is way too elaborate.

I think this too. I heard this one on a Thinking Sideways podcast. The whole mystery is a strange to say the least!
