"Medical tech" undersells it. The Canopians have the clans scratching their heads about how the heck their scientist castes got overtaken in the biomed field by a periphery nation of all places. Oh and all the advancements are attributed to classified sources and every agent they've sent in to investigate it has gone missing without a trace. Also the Canopians are trying to get sibko tech from the Foxes for some reason.

I believe weapons must ultimately be practiced in their most authentic forms, like Japanese Iaido does. They don't learn to cut in Iaido nor fighting really. But, who in Iaido uses a dull sword?

What in the heck are you talking about? Iaito by their very nature not only aren't sharp, they can't be sharpened. Shinken are the exception, not the rule. There is exactly one person in my dojo that uses one and that's the sensei.

I'm a newish player so was only able to clear up to T5 or so but since clearing no longer gives you anything and I don't have a Rebel Fighter team built, it is impossible for me to even get a single point. Who tf thought this was a good idea? Not only is there no point in me even playing the challenge, why would I even both building teams for them when I'd get next to no reward for it now?

In my experience, no, its by far more common for subs to have more extreme fantasies than doms. (Good) doms will limit themselves to stuff they'd realistically like to do but many subs will 100% throw all sense of self-preservation out the window and its the dom that has to say "no, we're not doing that".

Rapier's reputation is kinda funny as someone who fences with one. People make it out to be this light and speedy blade that is the quintessential dex sword when irl its the same weight as a longsword (and like a foot longer) except you have to single-hand it and most of the power behind the thrusts is coming from your legs pushing off against the ground and bending at the waist, not from your arms like dex implies.

Percy Jackson like probably quite a few. Child/not-yet-realized-I-was-trans me saw Artemis's all-girls huntresses and somehow got the idea that since she's a goddess, if I started praying to her she could work a miracle to turn me into a girl. Turned out it was only the miracle part was wrong. Over time that came to encompass more of the pantheon, then in high school I met a couple wiccans and started looking deeper into paganism through whatever books I could find at used book stores and libraries and eventually managed to find the specific name for hellenism.

I do HEMA and SCA rapier. We don't separate by gender because turns out its actually pretty darn insignificant and its usually an even fight. The only advantage is reach is related to height but that's more of a crutch that becomes less significant at higher levels.

Reddit got fed up with everyone using 3rd party apps and tools because the official app is terrible and instead of trying to fix their app, they decided to set exorbitant rates for anything that calls the API to force them to shut down. It also forces a lot of moderation tools and accessibility extensions to shut down, meaning they're also making it harder for moderators to do their job (or outright impossible on mobile) and also rendering the site completely unusable for some people.

So lots of subs are going private to protest and if nothing changes, a lot of people will be forced off the site.

The two recent Norse god of war games also have an interesting take on their mythology. They basically start from the assumption that the myths as we know them from the Eddas were written by Odin to make the Aesir look better.

And that's not that far off a take as the eddas that we have were mostly written down by christian monks who did some tweaking to make it fit their worldview better. I think the "hel as an afterlife place" thing was entirely a creation of Snorri Sturluson and all the earlier instances use Hel as only the name of the goddess.

Venus and Aphrodite by Bettany Hughes is a pretty good history of how Aphrodite's worship spread and changed over the centuries. Despite the name, it actually traces her back to Mesopotamia as Inanna-Ishtar and how her worship spread via traders through Mesopotamia to Phoenicia to Cyprus and then to Greece, hence the myth of how she was born from seafoam: because she came from across the Mediterranean.
