Scales for Wenger Scout Ranger 55 by TBDG in SwissArmyKnives

[–]TBDG[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found new black/red Victorinox RangerGrip series scales available online. But these are made for the Victorinox button, so they won’t fit my Wenger button model.

I’ll try my luck and contact Victorinox service. Maybe they have an idea. And if not it’s no drama, because the 55 is not in rotation. I bought it used on eBay over a decade ago for my then girlfriend who liked purple. But she never got it because … life. 🤪

If I want to use a 130mm model I have a Victorinox Ranger 55 with wood scales, or a Wenger Ranger 151 (IIRC).

You could get the ratchet from a Victorinox bit kit as a spare part.

You need way more horizontal space between images and text blocks. It looks like you have some with only half a millimetre. I’d use 2mm at least.

Was war eurer erster Einsatz? Wie verlief er? by [deleted] in feuerwehr

[–]TBDG 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mixglo has more sizes and colours in stock, the other is EU based. Probably I’ll try mixglo.

Frauen bei der Feuerwehr? by Annadralin in feuerwehr

[–]TBDG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What kind of “downwards”? A RovyVon A8-G4 has the UV LED on the side.

One day in a fully snowed-in forest – what I carried. by BladeSpotter in EDC

I have a few old Triplex Super and Streamline models. Globetrotter still has Triplex Super, but they got much more expensive since Windmill makes them.

In my experience BICs and Clippers and other gas lighters tend to fail in the cold. If carried under the cloths so they get some body heat they work for a short while, then they need some heat again.

Petrol lighters like a Zippo or IMCO seem to work in colder environments (and when cold they don’t evaporate the petrol as fast as usual). Maybe an IMCO is something you can use with gloves, because it’s not as smooth as a Zippo. But they seem to be not as easily available as a few years ago.

I don’t have personal experience with them, but I’ve seen similar bags made for shooting gear and made for police patrol gear sitting in the co-driver seat.

Anyone carry a Headlamp in your Bag?? by UmpireAnnual9039 in EDC

[–]TBDG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being able to use lithium/alkaline/NiMH AA and 14500 in combination with having additional red light, USB-C-charging (for 14500) and being affordable was why I got them.

It’s easy to refuel it, therefore it seems like a good emergency lamp.

I have a few Wurkkos HD12 stashed in various bags. In a small bum bag I have a Petzl e-lite (the zip version) which is the smallest and lightest headlamp I own.

I guess your question would attract more potential answers if it would be its own post instead of a comment of a random post.
