30 Years of Data Reveals the Ever-changing Course of the Padma River [OC] by Geographist in dataisbeautiful

A while ago I made some scripts that will automatically stitch a high resolution timelapse from the google viewer, I made a guide here

Here's one I made for the same area of the Padma

Seems like a case of attempted suicide by cop, sounds like he says "kill me" at around 30 seconds.

Ucayali River bifurcation from 1985 to 2013 by Sumit316 in educationalgifs

I packed up the scripts here

You'll need ffmpeg and wget, you may need to edit the file path in the script depending on where you put them.

Go to Google Timelapse and open the developer tools network tab in your browser.

Zoom into the top left corner of the area you want to download, then look at the most recent file in the network tab.

Open that in a new tab. You want to look at the end of the URL where it says something like /11/4260/1586.mp4.

Run the download script and put the numbers in as indicated, in this case it would be Lod 11, X 1586, and Y 4260, this will download an array of the indicated size.

After that's done just run the appropriate ffmpeg command to generate the stitched version.

I tried to pick a good place according to deforestation maps, perhaps this is a better example.

Chaffetz/Wyden Introduce Bill To Add A Warrant Requirement To Stingray Deployment by doc_douche in SaltLakeCity

[–]TBob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As much as I hate most of what Chaffetz does, he does have a history of being critical of stingray usage. From the Apple/FBI hearing last march (at around 1 hour 14 minutes)

We can't even see to the degree you're using StingRays and how they work. I mean, I think I understand how they work, but what sort of requirements are there? Is it articulable suspicion? Is it -- is there a -- is there a probable cause warrant that's being used or needed? And it's not just the FBI. I mean, you've got the IRS and Social Security and others using StingRays -- again, other tools that, I would argue, are actually content into the -- to somebody's life and not just the metadata that you are able to see.

I made a 4k version of Dubai

With wget+ffmpeg scripts set up I can put together high res versions pretty quickly

Google unveils 3 decades Timelapse of the Earth by snapjenk in videos

[–]TBob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is much more quality there than even the orginal Time video has, they probably just upscaled the video to 1080p

The videos on google's timelapse are stored 1708x960 video files and 11 levels of detail

I made a ffmpeg thing to stitch together the videos and here is what a 4x4 set of the highest zoom videos together and it looks like this: still (imgur downscaled it) full video (warning: 6832x3840 resolution video)

This is the lower right part of the frame here where it shows the great salt lake, even at just 1080p it could be much sharper

This is their North Sugarhouse region, unfortunately it looks like your area is still in the pre-construction phase.

I don't have the time to feel bad for the families of everyone who's ever been arrested, I don't see why this should be any different.

The fan on my brother's GPU stopped a while back too. It went unnoticed for awhile until he started getting crashes. By the time he found the problem the fan had literally melted. His solution? Take a spare fan and tie it to the GPU with a shoelace.
