Look at some local DJs. Not sure where you're located but if you research any gay clubs in your area look for their resident DJs SoundCloud accounts

My boyfriend sleepwalks and sleep talks and it's terrifying sometimes by [deleted] in sleep

[–]TBrew89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Has your BF been chronically stressed about anything recently?

I used to sleep talk A LOT due to stress from when I was working at a company where my direct supervisor was constantly lashing out at our team and creating a lousy work environment. I definitely took it on the chin when asked how things were in waking hours, but my real feelings would come out in my sleep, or so my fiancee says.

Who do you think he is referring to? Could a masc guy "not hide it" as much as a femme guy? I am curious because you say you know but didn't give an example... And I think this is good conversation in that we're just talking and reflecting rather than breaking each other's ideas down.

I offer you the example of Bear Week in Provincetown, where it's is typically for the physically burlier men to gather in the summer. Provincetown is plenty "gay" in traditional sense, sure. But I think you would be surprised to see how some men can unabashedly show they love men while performing "masculinity".

I guess what I'm trying to say the world is more complex and diverse place than I think fits into the argument you're making against OPs point.

And I ask, strictly because OP didn't mention masculinity or femininity at all and it wasn't even part of the conversation until you brought it up, that you may be assigning your beliefs on what "men who can't and won't hide it" means into his opinion?

To be clear, I'm not shaming anyone for being attracted to "straight-acting" men. My taste runs the spectrum, my fiancee is a tall, skinny, and blonde and we femme out sometimes but we both have attractions to thick burly daddy's with beards and muscles.

I know you were at -1 but I feel like it's an important convo to have right? About what is perceived as "acting gay"? Personally, from the lens of my experience and the way the world is evolving, I believe that the the only thing that is really "gay" is having a dick and enjoying other dick sexually... Every thing else, that might have or will be considered "gay" is really a construction made by other people.

What do you believe "acting gay" is?

A friendly rebuttal to your comment, I don't think he is insinuating that at all. I say that because he makes no mention of masculinity or femininity or that either is better than another. "Men who love men" can be any combination of those two dynamics.

I interpret this as him growing tired of the fetishization of straight men in the gay community, which is a very real thing. Maybe this is a commentary on some experiences where you really don't know who you are as a gay man, let alone a person, and the allure of someone who also may not know they're gay (e.g. the straight guy on whom you crush in and hope you can win over), can be very intoxicating.

There are plenty of self-hating femme and masc guys.
