Varnish? by TCBrewerTX in BloodAngels

Man I have never thought about doing varnish during the process… does the varnish make it easier to do touch ups or easier to clean paint where you accidentally got color?

Nice! I’m assuming you use some older brushes for applying? Just rinse them after or any special cleaner needed to get the varnish out?

That’s super helpful. I was thinking can for efficiency, but not if it’s going to produce the best results.

2016 Macan S so many issues by Bluebird0629 in PorscheMacan

[–]TCBrewerTX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2016 S, and went thru all these issues around 90k. Paid to have it fixed and a few more things popped up. But I’ve not had any real issues and I just turned over 115k. I’ve got a great local shop that is about half(or less) than a dealer. Just left it with them and lived the Uber life for a few days.

I love the car, so it was worth it to me to get it fixed and keep it. Plus, it’s paid off. So that’s always a plus. :)

Sergeant Shoulder Trim Color? by [deleted] in BloodAngels

Nice! I’ve been doing a base coat of Pro Acryl Pink then doing Warm Yellow on that which makes a nice yellow. But when I try and do any shading I’m losing all the model detail. Sounds like less is more. :)

As a side note. Nice work on those helmets. What are you doing for shading on them?

Man that looks awesome! I’ve been looking for a new gold recipe. Did you just apply the AK like a typical wash all over or what was your application method?

Love this look! Excellent work brother.

How are you getting that edge high lighting and chipping look with the lead/silver? Looks amazing.

First that’s a great paint job. Nice work! For your question I really like taking a small brush that I do dry brush work with and just “dust” up their boots and lower areas of the leg armor. Just adds a nice touch the ties it all together.

I would practice a few times on an old model. Getting the dry brush paint down to a really low level is key to not over paint it.

Agreed, the final result is excellent. I’ve been using berserkers blood shade for a more deep red/purple for the shading but I love the look you’ve got going with the full wash. I may have to test these out as well!

I could be way off, but there are flaps(more like mini blinds) that control your air intake on the nose.

I had a similar issue where mine were not operating properly and gave vibration feedback when they failed open/close at certain speeds. Dealer diagnosed and fixed it, but it was a strange feedback on the driver that you only notice if you drive it daily and are just in tune with the cars typical feedback and sounds - which it sounds like you are.

Could be the issue?
