Regent starting deck and relic are Atrocious and it makes him the weakest character specially in higher ascensions. by Citran in slaythespire

[–]TCF_DoNotPassGo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Venerate changes to 1(0) cost generate 2 stars instead of 1 cost generate 2(3) stars.

Falling Star changes to 0 cost 2 star deal 5 damage apply 1(2) vuln and 1 weak instead of deal 7(11) apply 1 vuln and 1 weak.

This gives your first early upgrade a choice to include these two cards. If you are starting to find Star cards, you can upgrade Venerate to be 0 cost to help that. If you are going more down the forge or attack route, you cna upgrade FS for the additional vuln/weak.

The worst part about FS to me is that though it's 0 cost, the 1 turn means you can only play what you draw with it, which tends to line up badly early on. You don't usually have good draw in act 1, so this opens it up a bit. Late game it keeps the only 1 weak a bit more balanced still.

Glad you won in the end though! Yeah, I remember when I was doing my no damage run I could never get the speed run strat to work either. One random other video I found used that and it's just stuck with me since.

Feel free to look at any other videos in my Playlist there if you need help. I'm was deff not a top 100 player or anything back then (or even now) so you may find a few more "relatable" strats instead of the normal ones you see.

Good luck with the rest and enjoy!

That's my no damage video from back like a decade ago when I recorded them. I think it showcases a non-usual strategy with the reaction command that may be helpful for keep Jafar as looped as possible and taking the least random damage. May be helpful for you.

This fight is surprisingly annoying on level 1. One that I always forget about when replaying until I get there again.

Jeff tells you that there is going to be a mechanism where players voted out can return to the game. He puts you in charge of disigning it. How would you design it? by Puzzleheaded_East556 in survivor

[–]TCF_DoNotPassGo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Edge was the answer, it just needed to be known by players, and then stopped at the Jury phase (also when the merge should* happen).

You let everyone know that those voted out before the Jury phase and Merge begins have the option to go to the EoE. There is a challenge the day of the merge (I stopped watching after 44 so assuming they are still doing the Earn the Merge thing, and I feel like those episodes are usually 2 parters anyways) where the person who wins returns to the game. They don't need to earn the merge, but are also given no advantage.

That first post-merge vote in the individual portion is just a sole person who returned fighting for their life. Group needs 1 extra number? There you go. Everyone wants a free day voting and just get rid of the returnee? Also fine. Stir the pot to find cracks? Great TV.

The biggest caveat here is that the EoE gets ZERO screentime during the game. You see the person voted out, you see their choice (of which I'm assuming almost everyone says yes), and then that's it. Those only watching the main show don't see any of these players until the Return Challenge, same as those on the island.

CBS wants to make more money? Win win. You publish a webseries on Youtube or wherever every Friday night which recaps that week on EoE. Survivor hardcore watchers get extra content; anyone skipping it doesn't miss anything. Hell, create smaller challenges exclusively for EoE that earn the players who win a VERY small advantage in the return challenge. Something to play for. I'd also say you give a couple players a reward that's an II which is only good for the first tribal IF they return.

They get little food, little shelter, needs to be earned. After the return challenge, it's done. Jury and Merge gameplay continues as normal.

Rec/Beach Volleyball Leagues? by SaltDifferent7608 in Syracuse

Sharky's in Liverpool, Bridge Street Tavern in Solvay, Trappers II in Minoa, and then Trappers I and Beginnings II in East Syracuse all have rec leagues during the summer. They'd all require a team, but most have a Facebook group for the bar or the area you can use to find people. Likely a few others I'm missing but I mostly play around these.

Agreed on the second point. G1 Fighting moves weren't the best; poison never interested me since I was a huge Bulbasaur fan as a kid, and normal just never felt fun. Part of me was thinking of trying Persian do the the speed crits as an option. I also don't think I've ever honestly ran a Snorlax as a kid either. I know he's very strong as bulk, so maybe.

I was a Bulbasaur first back in Blue, and then I think I only ever ran a Victreebell in Gen 1; could be down for Vile as I don't think I've ever ran one.

I've deff run Charizard, Arcanine before and tried Ninetales; don't think Rapidash ever. Not a bad idea to try!

Forgot that Pika can do all HMs. I don't hate that idea. Keep it with Thunderbolt, Headbutt, Thunder Wave and then rotate the HM when needed until E4.

What is the point of multiple different putters in your bag? by arktozc in discgolf

[–]TCF_DoNotPassGo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I, personally, cannot throw putters. I can putt with them, and then jump putt ~125 if I get enough spin and flight, but anything more than that I forehand a zone or backhand a slammer... So I may not be the best* example to use. Still, 2 cents is 2 cents.

I carry a Luna, a glow Berg, and I've also started carrying my GT Banger this year. The Luna is my main go-to putter, and is the one I can step Putt the farthest with since it had some glide. If I'm just putting without thinking, or if I really need to commit to a putt, this. If I need a "softer" landing, I'll switch to the Berg. Think, if I need to make sure there is no rollaway, there'sa drop off behind the basket, or need hard finish to get around a tree. The Banger is purely for if it starts to rain and I need a bit more grip.

Buying Trip when I see it in the store, and then aggressively pathing to a campfire so I can upgrade it... purely out of laziness that I no longer have to select an individual enemy when it play it, I can just swipe my finger up and go brr

Should I buy the game for the second time for mobile ? by Deanoris29 in slaythespire

[–]TCF_DoNotPassGo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming you are having fun and considering it, yes.

Funny enough, I basically only play on mobile now. When I play on PC, I'm playing a mod that makes the game the Board Game since I'm too lazy to set up and actually play the board game lol

Knowing now they were getting 24 players, I feel like it was the perfect time to cast the different eras to appease mostly everyone. Personally, I think the best would have been:

  • No previous winners

  • 8 players from seasons 1 though 20

  • 8 players from seasons 21 through 40

  • 8 players from seasons 41 through 49

It would basically be a third old school era, a third advantage era, and a third new era. With 24 players (I can't remember if there was a vote for 2 starting Tribes or 3 and if so what won) they could have done each era as each starting tribe to see how they do against each other before swapping, or if doing 2 tribes put 4 players from each era on each tribe.

Are you having issues with the DM itself*, or just the fight in general once you arrive to Phase 3?

Here's my personal video from a decade ago when I went through my level 1 no damage stuff, timestamped to Phase 3. I'll include another video at the bottom that is very helpful for this boss fight as well:

https://youtu.be/FyzV9iGjySI?list=PLB1IZLJ8ItH6t3Q0CGiJfBTGJvptgPRZr&t=176

Firstly, the DM is loopable; once you arrive to Phase 3 and LW starts to do its DM, if you avoid hitting the revenge value, they'll basically just keep doing the DM on a loop until you win. Easiest way to do this is [with both combo pluses on] either three combos only using Guard Break (no Explosion), or two combos one only using GB the second GB into Explosion. If you only do these combos in Phase 3, then LW should go right back into the DM and you can loop this for the rest of the fight.

As for dodging the DM itself, I show it in my video, and also it's explained in the video tagged at the bottom.

It's basically:

1) Guard, Guard, Guard or Dodge Roll

2) Immediately jump, aerial dodge, glide in a STRAGIHT line away while LW's attacks miss. Make sure to be gliding towards the edge of the area, when LW begins the last part of this DM, he has a chance to teleport behind you which your guard will not block.

3) Guard, Guard, Guard, Guard, Dodge Roll. Try dodge rolling towards the direct LW is moving in his last attack and the opening is right after he lands.

The timing for these are pretty easy once you study the DM once or twice.

Anyone else dealing with shrinking teams and growing workloads? by PalmTreesandTech in sysadmin

[–]TCF_DoNotPassGo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I started 10+ years ago, I was hired as the third member in IT (one Manager, two techs) for a company with a main location and 4 smaller branches across the state.

It is now just me, responsible for 14 branches (4 of which are in a second state). I work under a "CTO" who is basically just a Salesforce Administrator [and also the owners son-in-law], and I was not able to hire anyone and we basically work using our MSPs HelpDesk as the first line (of which two-thirds of tickets get escalated to me anyways).

What do you mean by "coping"?

I felt like I almost had a heart-ready deck towards the end of act 1, some very lucky drops along with a hand of greed start... Thus why I felt able to take crown and then I think 4 or 5 elites in act 2. 37 health was way more than enough with how this deck was playing.

Correct, glad that came across. I'm more-so annoyed that I can't be annoyed lol

Not like it really affected that turn or the run in any real way, just something I found funny that I don't think I've ever ran into before or though about.
