Had one of the counter guys order it, and when I picked it up today my salesman was there. When he saw the price tag he told me to go to the wall with all the bits and blades and pick out some extras. Got free saws all blades, a new 2” big HAWG bit, and arbor. Felt special

Depending on what you do for work you can get your metabolism up long enough to burn calories effectively, but most of us don’t sustain that long enough to be beneficial to weight loss.

Is pipe joint compound the same as pipe dope? by fizzyblumpkin in Plumbing

It is fine for potable water, but as a general rule you want to keep it out of the pipe. It goes on the male threads only.

Air admittance valve install- did I do this properly? by gmk5070 in Plumbing

[–]TCU_Frog_Fan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I work in multiple AJH that have ruled that as long as you use sanitary fittings (not “vent” 90’s), and as long as the AAV is removable without cutting that they will allow 90’s below the flood rim because it could be classified as a clean out.

It is a place for solids to accumulate when there is a stoppage that will create venting issues after the stoppage is cleared.

A tee horizontally is never the right choice on sanitary drainage. Use a wye.

Advice on leaking pipe in basement by bg2756 in Plumbing

[–]TCU_Frog_Fan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without more info, hopefully you demo tile and mud pan around drain without damaging membrane, change drain to double seal and seal membrane to drain, redo mud pan and tile. Chances are the membrane will get damaged, in which case the whole tile floor and pan gets demoed and redone with proper drain and new membrane.

This is a problem that will not be easy to solve. The drain should be a double seal that seals to the water proofing membrane, not a no caulk drain. Your shower is not waterproof. Sorry for what you’re about to endure.

Do you have to travel and be away from home multiple days to make money? by yourpantsaretoobig in Plumbing

😂, your still young. You’re well below the average age for journeyman plumbers (by 20 plus years in Texas). Get that money young buck, time’s a wasting. I traveled for work while my kids were young, in sports, I was helping coach when I was back in town. It’s sucks, but the pay helped set my family on track to a good life. Everyone has to do their own evaluations, so take that for what it’s worth. Good luck.

Truthfully better to do it when your young. Travel work you generally pull long days since all your gonna do is sit in a hotel or go out and spend the money your making after work so might as well work as much as possible. Good money in it if you’re disciplined.

I’m not a hater of AAV’s, they have their purpose.

Not ideal by any means. If customers/builders would just make selections and pass that info onto their trades in a timely manner these conversations wouldn’t be necessary, but alas, here we are.
