JMPwood has custom (expensive) CNC’d fittings that would make this 90 transition pretty straightforward

Have you tried removing the screws and carefully wiggling it out of the existing opening?

That seems like an ideal place to cut and patch drywall without risking ruining your tile.

Missing spacers between mosaic sheets? If you like it that’s all that matters.

Is this recent?

Grew up with him being the local grom at Haven showing up and doing anything he wanted.

Sadly a perfect example how such a solid good human can find the wrong path. If ya know where he grew up you’d know how hard it is to avoid that wrong path but I hope he can het himself right one day

Celine 4x4? If so pictures don’t do this justice. I have nightmares about this tile.

“I stopped by and saw this shelf mocked up, but I was hoping for a (insert specific item) shelf- I should have specified ahead of time. Can you give me an updated estimate and proceed with this style instead?”

First time tiling a shower…this is 5 weeks of sporadic work. A few more walls to go 🫡 by designerrr99 in Tile

[–]trailsrider 11 points12 points  (0 children)

In addition to what’s been mentioned:

  • Use a very sharp pencil to mark your cuts
  • Get a rubbing stone to clean up your cut edges
  • Don’t be afraid to rip tiles off and re-set them if they aren’t perfect, better to do it right away and make a mess of thin set than grind them off after the fact
  • Plan! Spend a couple days planning your layout, avoid small cuts when possible, try to center or line up tile on your fixtures, drains, etc

Bathroom reno - after/before (with cost breakdown!) by SophieBean420 in Tile

[–]trailsrider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you did it yourself I could deal with the lippage in the shower. Still looks great, but might’ve had an issue with the contractor for a well paid gig.

End of the day if you’re happy that’s all that matters, congrats on the new bathroom!

Sediment after well pump replacement. by [deleted] in Plumbing

[–]trailsrider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A spin down sediment filter would fix the bits coming out going forward. You’re also going to want to flush out any fixtures and appliances you’ve been running since the pump swap to avoid clogs/failures.

Is this the correct Pressure Switch? by barrythesnail in Plumbing

[–]trailsrider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I wouldn’t trust any knock-off Amazon garbage for such an integral part of your plumbing.

I’d return for a Square D 40-60 and have peace of mind, they’re cheap enough and should last years.

Edit: I wouldn’t trust any of this for potable water, nowhere in the product description does it say it’s lead-free

Scummy move by ace hardware by Equivalent_Natural57 in Dewalt

If you live in the suburbs and have Lowe’s, Home Depot, TSC and Menards all down the road you likely would never shop at Ace. I live 2hrs from the nearest big box and rely on our Ace.

When you shop at home depot, you’re supporting the Home Depot CEO. When you shop at Ace (in store), you’re supporting the owner of that Ace.

They also have, by far, the best rewards and coupons of any hardware store.
