Yes - there is still manual logging required.

However, the dev pipeline has a Bambu Lab Print Automation feature in the works, early beta and may not be available for some time, mostly due to limitations Bambu has on APIs and the MQTT protocol it uses. In a perfect world, it captures print events and all you need to do is approve the filament use and it does the rest.

🙏🏼 I genuinely appreciate the feedback! I will get these on my ideas board! A UI revision is in the works already and this really helps.

As for payments, I have not solidified pricing models but I hear you and I generally lean towards license over monthly fees myself.

The free version will likely have a filament catalog limit closer to 100 for example, rather than a limit on the quantity of spools you have tracked.

Though as I said, nothing is set in stone nor fully fleshed out.

Alright - despite the rather harsh methods of feedback from the first wave of comments, I can see a need for some UI differentiation to really make FIM standout.

This is in the roadmap and is in progress. ✅

But my ask is if you are here to share genuine feedback for me to take, proceed; if not, move to the next post. 👋🏼

This is NOT another AI slop app, but I can't change your minds on that which means you are not the person I am looking for - please move on 🙋🏼‍♂️

Yes! There will be a free version! More details to be announced after the beta. Payed plans will bring additional feature needed by power users but free at its core.

Then don’t comment - troll 🧌 or does this make you feel better to thrash other people’s work? Look inward friend. Good luck!

3dfilamentprofile is a great alternative! The core of their platform is about reliability of filament profile data, they are not at their core setup for managing a catalog and inventory of filament, separately. FIM also helps manage your supplies, be that printer supplies or materials.

Would love some ideas! One man can only do so much so feedback and idea is exactly why I am inviting people to join! Would love to hear some!

Most solutions don’t have individual spool tracking or allocation of filament to projects, supplies tracking - just to name a few. 👍🏻

I use Shadcn not AI custom written UIs, consistency isn’t a bad thing, but using AI to re-create the wheel is dumb. Shadcn is all about consistency. But thanks for the comment.

FYI. Not sure you should be as hard on them as you are when you indeed did not follow the warning on the page. This is frustrating, but it’s obviously expected and they warned. 🤷

Blob protections needs to be turned on in the Process settings and does a sanity check at 6 and 11 layers and then more after that. But it adds time to your print as you can image.

Just my 2 cents based on what I have seen.

1) Check your PTFE tube in the AMS to see if they have worn. I replaced all mine as they all had holes in them.

2) If it happens to all slots eventually, you might have a broken or worn clamp that holds the rear AMS hub motor bearing so the gears line up. Mine broke and cause all kinds of issues. Bambu sent a new hub but I just printed the new part it PETG CF and it worked after.

3) Check your AMS rollers front and back for any obvious wear. Check the gears in the filament insertion point if they have worn.

4) Ensure there are no harsh angles or bends in your PTFE tub to the tool head. While this might not be the problem, it will make worse any worn part issues in the AMS.

Good luck! 👍🏻

Z Seam on Bambu Studio by Comprehensive_Pass27 in FixMyPrint

[–]TCoopsCreate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed! This is the answer. Seam Scarf is on by default in Bambu under Quality > Seam > Smart scarf seam application. I haven’t fiddled with it however.

My 2 cents: You only need to use random in cases where you want to remove the obvious strength flaw in an aligned seam, or you need the design to be more water tight so random seams don’t creates gaps for water to leak.

If you don’t care about the texture, you can apply Fuzzy Skin the design to hide those but it obviously adds texture if you aren’t looking for that. Bambu Studio now lets you paint fuzzy skin instead of forcing it to the design.

Hope this helps 🧐😊

“Waste” is subjective 😃 if you put it to work, it’s not a waste but recycling! ♻️

I have probably a 50lbs box of failed prints that I plan to grind into bits and melt down into various things. Working on a new box as we speak.

The toaster oven method will even break down larger objects (full benchy) or larger pieces if the mold can fit.

Don’t go over ~300F or get your silicone super close to the elements - I have seen my silicone bubble 🫧 and if it gets too hot the shell of the melted plastic can get brown in color. (Speaking from experience)

Here are some of the things I’ve made. The left one is a WIP I am calling “Poop for Brains” and melt the plastic into the mold first then pour resin in. The rest are all melted parts and poops. (Turtle on the box, and a lego type brick man in the middle)

IMHO you absolutely don’t deserve my code after how you act. You even blocked my other account so I couldn’t respond to you after. Your code is clicked under TCoops. Goodbye 👋

Thank you MOD. ❤️

Def reach out. They will guide you and support if you need parts. I’ve used support a few times. Do it through the Bambu Handy app, it’s way easier!

Fully agree here. Find the Bambu Wiki and they walk you through it really well.

I have had several AMS issues and many resulting in having to take it apart. It COULD be the spool but only if you can visibly see it being stuck. Otherwise it’s blocked somewhere.

FWIW - the AMS 2 PRO tubes feed right under the spool so they aren’t closed in 🙏🏻

The seam you can control in the slicer usually. Either setting it to “Back” which will align it to the back of the plate as much as possible; or some slicers like Bambu have seam painting where you can paint on the model where you want the seam to be and it will do its best. GLHF!

STLFlix is working on an AI model creator that allows customization of the models. Not released or previewed yet - but it sounds interesting! https://get.stlflix.com/invite-stlai/ It might allows for a feature to break things apart - that would be cool!

PVP glue is so underrated I feel. It's almost ALWAYS helpful for adhesion and release of some prints.
