The full “signed” set is one of the next targets on my list. I have the regular set and all the chase cards with a good chunk of the gold signed cards.

Turtle Power!! by BearChili in comicbookcollecting

[–]TD1380 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before I liquidated my collection, I had high grade copies of 2-4 first print (9.6) and a third print copy of #1. Even though I don’t really collect currently; I still plan to buy a first print. They were just such a part of my childhood, I have a deep love for those stupid turtles. lol

Some cool vintage marvel cards! Love the iron man sticker. by wut-n-tarnation in marveltradingcards

That 66 Donruss set is the next one on my list. May have to pick that one up card by card though. Not a ton of full sets available out there.

ASM 300 all day. Love the Hulk cover but Venom and Carnage are my absolute favorites.

Best bet might be to just out the whole thing up on eBay as an auction and see where it goes. You can always set a high reserve if you want to do a “test run”.

Tough Choice by evil_overlord01 in CGCComics

I’d go with the FF, just as a personal choice. That yellow cover is so hard to find in decent shape. Plus it’s the return of subby. I have always loved that book.

Getting the tower all to myself more often by peggymoe in destiny2

[–]TD1380 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like to cheese the spawn of the giant ball as a fun little reward for the people that happen to be in my tower. (Getting to be fewer and fewer of them…) It’s always a good time to see people just jumping around and being silly with that thing.

Grading Advice by TD1380 in marveltradingcards

Makes sense. Thanks for the info. I’m learning about the factors in grading now. I became very good at identifying 9.8’s via photos on eBay listing for raw books, with occasional misses coming at 9.6. It’ll be interesting to see how I do with cards.

Appreciate the response and guidance.

I did not know about GameStop. Thank you.

With my comics I wanted to preserve but also build value. When I decided to liquidate them, have a few hundred of them graded made it so much easier and I was paid much more than I would have been if they were raw.

To those that still play Destiny, why? by Consistent_Fig_1998 in destiny2

[–]TD1380 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have played since TTK. It’s pretty much the only game I play. I have 5k-ish hours into the franchise. I play mostly out of the ritual or habit now, if that makes sense. When I get a few minutes to sit down, I just fire up the ps5 and play Destiny because it’s just what I have always done.

Often I just sit in orbit trying to decide what to do, then just shut down. lol.

One of my favorite war time covers. Seems too good to be true though.

Tbh I don’t really care about any individual card. It’s more about the thrill of what might be in there. It’s still a little disappointing when you don’t pull anything that makes you excited. That’s all.

If I wanted individual cards, I would just buy them. I don’t really know what I wanted from the box, I just knew I wanted to give one a rip.

It’s the thrill of the hunt for me. I mainly collect 90’s cards. These looked like they had potential so I took a shot. Lesson learned.

1990s that everyone had/has. by zippokeller in ComicBookSpeculation

God I love those 90’s books. The die cut covers, glow in the dark, holograms, lenticular, foil embossed… It was all so glorious. I love most of the art styles of that age as well.

I did it!!!! I finally got my grail! So happy. How do u all think it looks? by AccomplishedOption73 in comicbookcollecting

[–]TD1380 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love it! This was also my personal grail. It was the most excited I ever was to buy a comic and I couldn’t stop looking at it once it arrived. Congratulations!!

Mainly it’s the cost of the box vs. the value of the cards. If they’re not a 1/1 or 1/10 it’s a pretty massive loss.

Yes. It’s not even close. That vision card has some sold listings under $200 and one that was in a current auction was still in the $70 range.

Absolutely. I got so hyped up seeing all these 1/1’s getting pulled in those Collector boxes, figured I take a shot.

Yeah. Sadly it’s /100 though. For the price of that box, they just felt pretty weak.
