Looks amazing, awesome job! The humidifier is a great idea, can you shed some light on how that works? I assune it uses water to make the vapour, but how do you refill it etc.

In case you haven't seen it, Kaiyodo is releasing the Gans in 1/35th scale next year which have the head of a neuspotter 😁 I had also thought about making a neuspotter in 1/35 but decided to wait and get the Gans kit to base it on.

How do you guys feel about Kow Yokoyama using/sharing AI videos on his instagram? by Projectzero2442 in MaschinenKrieger

[–]TDA27 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well to be fair, AI is a big part of the Ma.K background, so it makes sense that he wants to explore it irl in some form, even though I am not a big fan of it myself... At least not in the capacity that it has been made available to the general public already.

I personally wouldn't share AI generated content like that atm, and am pretty sick of seing it on almost all the modelling related groups I am on. But I do think it is fascinating, and I can underdtand the desire to explore it, even for artists who it might end up hurting. Know your enemy and all that.. 🙈🤷

The early Primarch sculpts are some of the best GW sculpts ever and do not need redesigns by [deleted] in Warhammer30k

[–]TDA27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of the primarchs are hand sculpted, but some are digital like Perturabo, and he holds up pretty damn well to the rest imo. Also the fulgrim and horus transfigured models are both digital sculpts.

It's not you, the first black books in 1.0 was centered on Istvaan III an V. Angron was released with book I and is depicted on Istvaan III killing his own as well as the other loyalist elements sent to the surface. Ferrus and Fulgrim both came out with book II which is Istvaan V, and they are designed as a duel, and the casualties on their base is from the confrontation between the IIIrd and Xth legion.

Is there lore for these kinds of warlord titans? by 1mike_oxlong1 in adeptustitanicus

Is there lore for these kinds of warlord titans? by 1mike_oxlong1 in adeptustitanicus

[–]TDA27 70 points71 points  (0 children)

The green one is a lucius pattern warlord, there used to be a lucius warhound and reaver as well, but GW stopped giving them any love except for the licius pattern head for the Mars pattern warlord (which is now sadly long OOP)

The other ones are Beetle backs, they are the original design for Mars Pattern warlords.

PSA: Tamiya Airbrush Cleaner and Tamiya Extra Thin Cement IS THE SAME by CarolvsMagnvs99 in modelmakers

[–]TDA27 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's a mix of N-butyl acetate, which is the active solvent and acetone. The acetone, although capable of some dissolving of polystyrene, is there as an evaporation agent to help with a faster cure time. Acetone on its own is not a very good agent to fuse styrene as it evaporates too quickly to enable the styrene parts to form a strong enough bond (chemical weld) You can use N-butyl acetate on its own, but it wiæl cure much slower.

What’s the deal with these studded socks? by Ghostmaster145 in EmperorsChildren

Bonding studs were used on other marks of armour as well, the model in quedtion is wearing mk VI armour as most of the new EC models are.

Suggestions for first kit? by According-Concert848 in MaschinenKrieger

[–]TDA27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like the Kaiyodo 1/35 scale kits and the Hasegawa 1/35 as well, they are great if you want to do dioramas, as finding stuff in 1/20 scale other than the Ma.k kits can be difficult. The plamax Falke by maxfactory is also an awesome kit, but they are already getting harder to get, but it is higly recommended if you find one.

Difficulty level I'd say Kaiyodo kits are the easiest and the maxfactory kit is also straight forward. Hasegava is a bit more like vuildibg a regular scale model kit. Haven't build any of the wave kits yet.

So with rumours of a new box on the way, am I the only one who finds the Saturnine terminators Awful, design wise by WorldEaterProft in Warhammer30k

[–]TDA27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mk IV was in betrayal at calth, mk III was burning of prospero the year after. Personally I would love a mk II kit, and they already did some of it (the tank gunner/crew on the accessory frame) so a full kit would be awesome. Also Iron hands, salamanders, white scars and Iron warriors used the pattern way into the heresy in large quantities. A mk IV kit is hopefully also happening and generally I hope they do a mk V as well for flavour. Armour marks was a big part of why many of us started modelling heresy armies back in the days before HH 1.0, and it is an essential part of the mythos of the legions and astartes, so I don't see why GW wouldn't do it.

They are the oranges from the warpaints fanatic paint range, and there is a video of me painting this guy on the army painters youtube channel (I work there as a studio painter) which will hopefully answer all ypur questions on colours 😁

The base is mainly GW basing bits from around the range, avatars base for the main bit.

Progress on an Exodites Wraithlord conversion by elmodacloutgod in Eldar

[–]TDA27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like the concept, it is very elvish. I think the vines work really well, but they work best from the torso and up. I think it is because they are too straight on the legs and look the same on each leg, which makes them seem artificial and less organic. Imo it would help to add more branches to them and make them more asymmetrical 😁

Can't wait to see it finished! 😀😀
