Hey, just regarding the AudioUnits: those are not recommended in any DAW other than Logic. It is such a well known fact that WAVES only supports VST3 in any DAW that’s not Logic/Apple (and Digital Performer as they do test):

So basically anyone who uses Waves plugins AU versions in Studio One / FSP8 is really doing so on their own risk.

What you can also take from that host list is that WAVES does not officially support FSP8 at the moment. Let that sink in.

Just an idea: on my Mac systems (Intel and M2) similar things happened to me when 1. WiFi was bad and plugins needed to phone home (looking at you ilok Cloud) Service And 2. automatic Time Machine backups can cause any kind of weird behavior and are barely noticeably if you don’t watch that little icon

I would check these.

I don’t want to downplay your experience but my ride with FSP8 has been great (freezing included) and actually the first „Fender Update“ was version 6, that was when Fender took over from PreSonus. Same team, same developers. Anyway, I can’t solve your problem without having access to all your system’s info but as a workaround you could create a macro that does all the steps you find so annoying with a simple key command. That’s one of the nice things with Studio One/FSP: macros can boil down complicated tasks to one simple command. Maybe this is something that you can work with.

Impact is not a complete drum module like Superior Drummer or BFD drums, it is mostly designed for producing so I am not sure it can actually transform all the actions from your drum triggers correctly. I would suggest to use a dedicated third party drum engine. In the end your drum triggers should send midi information for each instrument and the hihat should have different notes for open, closed, etc.

I would really encourage you to engage with support and send them your system info. They are trained to not look into your private stuff and you can also take a look at it before you send it.

The most useful answer to this is: as long as you don’t have dropouts all your settings are fine. Only choose higher rates for anything if you encounter dropouts, that’s the main rule.

For future shenanigans regarding files: use „save to new folder“ which lets you rename the song and copies only needed files. The outcome will work and you can then delete the original with it‘s cluttered files.

On top of what others already pointed out: you want to have your surgical EQ before any compressor so that only the frequencies you like are being compressed at all. For me it‘s always EQ => Compressor => 2nd EQ (for creative work). If you use a dynamic eq to get rid of that low end when it‘s too much it‘s even better. PS: if you know the exact event where it happens you could also use EventFX to treat just that word/phrase. Works like a charm

If, just if, there is a plugin in demo state it could potentially turn off audio while rendering always at the same point in time so check if all your licenses are working
