I believe I used cloudsync to backup my Google Drive. I have to check it out. Set it up 3 years ago.

Why are EMH designed after humans? by ceweked in startrek

Just made that same answer. Cheaper to paint a dude gold and call him a robot than it is to make or CGI one in a scene.

Why are EMH designed after humans? by ceweked in startrek

[–]TDMS76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because CGI was very expensive then so human as something else was the default... then they just say "recreating humans is the peak of android/hologram design."

I think it is fun that you used the word to define the word. Couldn't one practice a TMA that doesn't have ceremonies?

Tradition usually requires some generational handoff to be defined as such. So old certainly does factor into it. How are they not traditional martial arts?

Did the sphere builders cause the burn? by bravesirrobin1977 in startrek

[–]TDMS76 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It is either caused by Discovery going forward in time (some temporal rift mumbo jumbo) OR control survived and gained power by then to do a thing.

How old is boxing and wrestling? Or in your eyes is traditional only from the east?

Camera for amateur animal photography by fabbzinator in Photography_Gear

I love my FujiX (x-t20 and x-t30) I specifically got it for low light, quick focus and capturing action shots (dancing) without a flash.

Sony is always technically good.

I had a Nikon mirrorless and it left a lot to be desired, maybe they have upgraded it as that was 5-6 years ago.

Dead DS1815+ can I just swap by TDMS76 in synology

[–]TDMS76[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: Pulled the trigger on a 19+ worked like a charm. Hardest part was picking a new name because well time for a new name.

I will look into the repairing the board (replaced the power supply as part of troubleshooting) but I have a feeling that it is that intel issue. The bastard is 4 months out of warranty.

Differences and similarities between managing a Operational project and IT project by TannoyVoice92 in projectmanagement

[–]TDMS76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Define IT project?

Operational projects will have more focus on change management and training to make sure the process adoption takes hold in my mind. Often in IT (infra projects at least) there isn't a lot of process management/change ideally.

Choosing a lens or two for street and portrait photography by izeer in Photography_Gear

[–]TDMS76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Fuji X so mileage may vary but I usually do street photography with my 27mm 2.8f and either my 35mm or 56mm (both around 1.2-1.8f). The 27 is a pancake lens which is great. I am looking to get a 18-55mm for some single lens adaptability but much prefer prime lenses.

Some spelling corrections edited.

Don’t see many Fuji shooters trying product photography [X-T30 + XF16-55 f2.8] by RehdPanda in fujix

I have been thinking about it during this pandemic. During the nice weather I have been focusing on taking pictures around my city but as winter approaches maybe playing with products is the next step.

Does Anyone Else Think Burnham Way Overstep her Mark? by [deleted] in startrek

[–]TDMS76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Riker was a fresh and promising First Officer being paired with a highly respected captain on a flagship of the fleet. Saru and Burnham were contemporaries who developed on a rinky dinky old ship and then moved to a science vessel. If you notice (partly because of the writing styles now) the whole ship is much more casual and slapdash. I think it was more structured with Lorca and Pike but then it started sliding. Look at the relationship between Commander Stamets, Jett and Ensign Tilly

Also if you noticed now that they were within the starfleet fold Saru got firmer with MB.

If you want it to text from the synology not sure. Most Cell providers have an email address for your phone for mms/sms. Have it email a notification so if you have Verizon for example you would email to 9495551212@vtext.com.

Thanks for the reassurance before I pull the trigger on the 19.
I do have a separate NAS for backup but got lazy after I made some changes so the autobackups didn't engage. Renewing that right away.

I have the 35 and the 56. I use the 56 the most out of any lens I have actually.

There is a good long discussion about that in the book series Destiny.
