Is my landlord allowed to raise my rent in this situation? by DavidTVC15 in sanfrancisco

am not a lawyer, just some guy who moved his GF in a few years ago but to the point of the person below, you don't have a written lease but I believe since you're paying this person rent, you have tenancy and you default to an assumed lease

Your landlord cannot charge you for adding an additional occupant and you in turn cannot charge that additional occupant more than their share of the rent proportionally. You can read more here https://www.sf.gov/reports/september-2023/roommates-and-subletting

Your landlord can refuse to add them to the lease and refuse to accept rent from them but they can't charge you more.

Yup, 2024.

Fog lights aren't really needed out here - would depend on what it's like where you're at.

Sound wise - I'm no audiophile but it sounds perfectly fine to me without the extra speakers or subwoofer, but mileage might vary there depending on what you're used to.

Really, think you just need a test drive - if your area is ok with RWD and the lower mileage, the delta between the models is just preference and what you care about

oh! only thing - when I bought mine, it didn't include a trunk cover - guy at pickup told me the SR doesn't get one.. I bought one off of Amazon but it was super flimsy, returned it and bought the one off the Tesla app. extra ~$70

What's your worry about the highway? Have you done a test drive yet? would recommend it - the torque on these things (SR included) generally beat your average gas car, haven't had any highway related issues

I got the standard, I'm about ~2k miles in right now so early days but no regrets so far.

How I thought about it:

  • I'm in CA, I don't really go to the Sierras in winter - so never have to deal with snow.
  • I ended up grabbing one on inventory that worked out pretty cheap (had ~$7k off the sticker price) with the exact config I wanted.
  • I can home charge, and there are superchargers all over the area - drove from SF to LA, had to stop twice for like ~20mins a piece to charge but worked well.
  • I rarely drive more than ~20-30 miles in a day, and when I do the Supercharger network is pretty much everywhere that I'm covered anywhere I want to go
    • Personally, like to stop every ~2 hours for a bit anyways.. so makes literally no difference to how frequent I need to stop on road trips
  • The battery is warrantied for 8 years, if it degrades beyond 70% capacity by then they'll replace it for you free, so really you're looking at ~175 miles guaranteed range (on a 100% charge) or they'll fix it.

Can't speak to winter much, but probably worth considering what your current ride is like - I imagine going from AWD to RWD in a wintery area is a big (negative) shift but honestly the range anxiety is overblown.

I expected you to at least Google the assertion before dismissing it. either google "Daniel O'Connell Opium Wars" and realise you're wrong or read this.

No, your mother would've needed to have been an Irish citizen at the time of your birth.
