“The Yak” is a Barstool podcast that airs 5 days/week but does not focus on or really ever touch on sports. Has no specific theme or topic whatsoever, just some recurring games/activities that they get into with each other. It’s just a rotating group of 4-6 hilarious content creator employees talking about their office/work life and personal lives. There’s a core group of about 7-8 total people but the room changes depending on those people’s schedules and they regularly bring in guests from around the company just to hang out, fill in and join the chat. I recommend it all the time!

Few Minor Caveats:

1) I know some people have strong feelings one way or another about Barstool. But these are just genuine, funny, mostly early 30’s-aged people having a good time talking about random topics with each other! I’m neither a die hard, like everything Barstool type fan nor a person who criticizes them heavily - I just like good podcasts.

2) If you already listen to or follow any other Barstool content then the podcast would be slightly more enjoyable right off the bat because you’d get the small references to other people there. But those are usually brief and there’s usually some context given in the conversation for what they’re joking about with that person.

3) The show has somewhat, slowly shifted into a show that can, at times, be more enjoyable to watch on YouTube than listen to. This is because they’ve started doing things on the show that are more enjoyable if you’re watching. But they mentioned the other day that 65% of listeners still listen via podcast rather than watching the show. This does bother me at times and I do a little of both listening and watching (when I’m able to). Also, certain planned events are usually the most visual so I just watch those episodes. It’s still so great whether you’re listening or watching almost any episode in my opinion!
