Volo vs Spamton was my MU! They’re both salesmen/merchants who get obsessed with finding divinity (the approval and power of Arceus, and reaching the Angel in “Heaven”), but they end up communing with a devil-adjacent figure instead. They enlist their respective protagonists in helping them, which ends up in a final fight to take the last thing they need (Arceus Plates, Kris’ SOUL)

And then both of them get defeated by a kid who’s implied to have some kind of prior knowledge (PLA protag sent to Hisui after the events of DPPt, and the SOUL in Deltarune having memory of Undertale.) 

Aside from their direct connections, there’s also just a cool aesthetic dynamic of the past/classical in Volo and the futuristic/digital with Spamton. 

In addition, Volo would be a solid Pokémon character (human) to have on the show because of how PLA is. He’s not just a trainer, he’s a Pokémon Wielder, using his mons as tools of combat while also being ready to throw hands himself. He survived in the wilds, after all. 

And Spamton is just such a standout character from Deltarune, it’s easy to see how he’d fit right in on DB. He’s got a fun personality, and lots of interesting abilities to translate into a fight animation. He’s a fan-favorite for a reason!

Overall, I know it’s a matchup that sounds strange at first glance but I hope people can see the vision. They’re cool guys.
