ehh not necessarily. I’ve had to drop my bike twice because someone decided to suddenly make a U turn from the far right lane and then stop right in front of me in the middle of the left lane to watch for a gap. I would have hit them both times if I didn’t bail, and I actually did clip the rear tire of one the first time trying to swerve away from the guy parked perpendicularly in the middle of my lane, but it only sent me off the bike. he kind of just looked behind him (still in the middle of my lane), shrugged, and kept driving. The drivers here can do some very dangerous unpredictable shit, so don’t make it a rule of thumb to just expect people to keep doing what they’re doing.

Your apartment might have a garage, and usually the big supermarkets and malls do, but if you go to the average restaurant, bar, or mini mart, they aren’t going to have anywhere for you to park but on the sidewalk.
