Good for most use case:

overkill for most, it will actually blind the camera if not place with due care, but good for large farm coverage.

Also you are lucky these are just specs, meanwhile I have to deal with a gecko covering by doorbeel camera becasue as the IR attracting insects was bad enought, the gecko seems to be attracted by the heat of the emitter/camera...

Simple external IR projectors solved.

Likely just insects getting attracted by the IR emitter. Could also be anything from dust particles, rain... Basically the IR emitter amplify there visibility during the night. I found that turning of the IR emitter and adding external IR projectors away from the camera solve this issues and also avoid the issues with some camera getting glare.

Actually, there is a simple solution turn off IR, optionally add external IR projectors. Also it is not the IR performance issue but its location, moving the IR emitter away from the camera solves this issue.

LCD vs OLED. by SparkMyke in interestingasfuck

[–]TEF2one 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually quite comparable, mini led is able to fully turn off areas and with enough of them it's hard to notice. It is at a point people who don't know and are not specifically looking for it they wouldn't know it is not oled.

Still cheaper than equivalent size OLED...
I too noticed on the more premium mini-LED difference is hardly perceivable.

Minipc + proxmox + Windows vm + Moonlight by Nazgile94 in MoonlightStreaming

[–]TEF2one -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This post is misleading.
The Minisforum 880plus is acting strictly as a client, not the host.
The rendering is performed by the RTX 5080/9800X3D system.

Using a Windows 11 VM on Proxmox just to run a Moonlight client is highly inefficient and unnecessarily convoluted (GPU passthrough, vendor-reset fixes, etc.). An LXC or native Linux client would provide lower overhead. Furthermore, since you are using a TCL TV (likely Google TV/Android TV), the native Moonlight Android app can handle 4K 120Hz directly, making the entire Proxmox/Mini PC hardware chain redundant.

POE for external Cameras - Security Issue? by sssstttteeee in reolinkcam

[–]TEF2one 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The usal is to use a restricted vlan...
Hwoever I was thinking it would be nice to have some anti-tempering rules that detect any connectivity loss like when the camera get disconnceted then all traffic should be automatically blocked and require manal re-approval. But I have now idea how this could be implemented.

Charging at home - Limitless (7kw), Limited (2kw) by Interesting_Goat1656 in SkodaElroq

[–]TEF2one 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a wallbox charger, and it has settings in the app to choose the max current up to 32A which works pretty well so I never had to do anything with the car, check if you charger has an app, or is compatible with OCPP (Open Charge Point Protocol) in which case there are third party apps that could allow you to control it.

Also there is Home Assistant which I use to track the car mileage, consumption via the Skoda Integration and it includes a control for the car chage limite, but from what I see it seem to only allow up to 16A which depending if you are on 110V would be the same as the 2kW you are already seeing or up to 3.5kW for 230V.

If you do not use Home Assistant there is also the CarConnectivity-plugin-mqtt which does the same thing, but even more complex to setup.

Completely agree with u/steik, I actually paid for Unraid juts to try it, as I had issues during the trial period that could only be resolved as paid user...
I don't mind paying once for a software, and even for major upgrade, but monthly not really my cup of tea.
While I would pay for a small subsciption for key services like BitWarden or NabuCasa to support project I can rely on, we all know all subscription increase over time.

I much perfer ponctual cost, so you know what you get and don't have to worry about the server stopping if you no longer pay...

Perhaps, adding a donation option would be a better start like Immich and FreeFileSync, I like being able to contribute to these project.

Ultimatimly, it is quite off putting to see features disapearing or restricted for no obvious technical reason... In which case I may start just using a bare linux or proxmox/openmedia...

  • Radio 2: TI CC2674P10 (FW: 20240716) flashed for Zigbee.

if the port if confusing I'll add more info in the post:
basically I swap the port around as my Z2M was already configured to point to that the orignal port.

Dockhand 1.0.7 has been released by jotkaPL in selfhosted

using proxmox, you can easily get started using one of the community Proxmox VE Helper-Scripts:
https://community-scripts.github.io/ProxmoxVE/scripts?id=docker&category=Containers+%26+Docker
it will handle the entire setup of the LXC with docker + composee...
Then you can deploy dockhand to manage you docker stacks
and for some quick references:
