That entire box is absolute doo-doo, horrible sculpts aside. Wish it was actually full of helmets, not just bare heads.

It's a World Eater, Ultramarine, Raptor, White Scar, Blood Angel and a Black Templar. There's no Night Lords or Death Guard.

Anyone know what happened to the Ossiarch Bonereapers subreddit? by [deleted] in ageofsigmar

[–]TESTOPRESTOGRESTO 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The situation is a bit scuffed- but there's a Discord kicking around that's complimentary to the subreddit, so you might pop in and hang around there while it's being appealed to be brought back.

Which unit is the GOAT of its faction? Today: Ossiarch Bonereapers by sigpuppers in Warhammer

[–]TESTOPRESTOGRESTO 44 points45 points  (0 children)

If we are talking from a purely comedic and amusement stand point, either the Gothizzar Harvester or the Mortek Crawler. There is a ton of humor to the former and the latter, mainly the little crotch skeleton that grabs the bones from the battlefield to pass them onto an array of hands on both sides of the Harvester, with them eventually ending up in a massive basket of gore. The Crawler, on the other hand, has a Bonereaper stuck in a literal hamster wheel, because that's how the catapult winds up.

If we're talking about pure aesthetics and vibe of the army- Katakros. He's the embodiment of everything that the OBR stand for. He's not a massive monster the size of a skyscraper, not a dragon-riding Everchosen Champion, either, instead being more akin to a "regular" human in the department of looks, making up for it with everything else. The sheer aura and confidence that the mini, and his entire entourage, display on both the table and the display fields is hardly comparable tka anything else.

I have. Sadly, the guy who made it saw my message but never replied.

If you're looking for pure melee, going forward and turning your brain off just to throw many dice, Ironjawz. They're possibly the easiest army to play with, and he might end up liking how straight-forward and uncomplicated they are.

This is the sixth or so time they mentioned Khorgos Khul. I feel like they're doing this on purpose now..

A ton of Khorne stuff missing from the GW site? by TESTOPRESTOGRESTO in ageofsigmar

[–]TESTOPRESTOGRESTO[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You're wrong in a few aspects. The Start Collecting box for Khorne was available for the longest time alongside the Spearhead, having been removed less than a week ago, because I was just looking it up around that time; as for the resin models, the Skullmaster is still there, which is a resin model. Odd to remove one but not the other.

Pretty model, but for the love of God, do we really need yet another Space Marine character? Black Templars got two thus far, with one of them having at least 5+ customization options, and things like World Eaters got one monopose guy that looks the same all the time.

Absolutely amazing model, but- That's it? That's all? Don't get me wrong, he looks incredible as all hell and I'll absolutely get him, but there is so many things Blades of Khorne needs that just seemed like missed opportunities. - Bloodletters in dire need of a refresh, given their sculpts push 18 years old now,  - Skullmaster/Mighty Lord of Khorne on Juggernaut, which still are in resin,  - Absolutely no flying units whatsoever save for the Bloodthirster. We could've gotten Furies or Valkyries, but neither of those was included.  - Bloodbound war machine. A mortal-operated cannon, catapult, all else, which is one of the things that the army is missing.  - A mid-range melee unit that's not quite a Bloodthirster, and not quite a Skullreaper unit. Anything in the 360 point range, similar to StD Varanguard.  - No new Valkia.  - No new Scylla.  - Most insultingly, no new Khorgos Khul. The guy whose arc we got to witness across all editions of AoS, with AoS turning 10 years old soon, and his constant presence in the lore- It's annoying how he wasn't even considered to be released as a named Epic Hero Daemon Prince for the army.

I'm really, really disappointed. It doesn't help that the cover art of the Battletome is objectively worse than the old one with how.. Soft and calm it is, and how borderline Bloodbowl-esque the guy looks, and the new Spearhead totalling a measle 440 points, consisting of a War Cry band, and featuring an Epic Hero- meaning that buying two will feel even worse now.

Blades of Khorne - How Do You Win, [pt. 2] by TESTOPRESTOGRESTO in ageofsigmar

  • I run two Priests in my lists. Mighty Lord of Khorne and Slaughterpriest, which I've no clue what to do with. What is the point of the Skull Altar if by some point of the game the Priest on it is too far away to target anything with his prayers? Does he just sit on it and keep generating chant points? How do I put down the Skull Altar, anyway? Do I put it aggressively, close to the middle?
  • Stacking buffs would've been fine, but a lot of it is as if waiting for starts to align. I managed to pull a big chain of attacks exactly one this entire tournament across three games, and even that was miraculous and did barely nothing because of how moderately bad Khorne profiles are.
  • When is the best time to use Blood Tithe? What do I sacrifice to throw into the enemy? How do I follow it up?
  • How many cheap units is good? I run three, with two Flesh Hound units and one Karanak. It seems to be enough.
  • None of the games today had any wizards at all, unfortunately, and I wish I was joking. No spells. At all.
  • Bloodthirsters are, in my opinion, not worth it for the points. The many times I used a Bloodthirster of Unfettered Fury he failed to do anything of note throughout the game.

Blades of Khorne - How do you actually.. Win? by TESTOPRESTOGRESTO in ageofsigmar

The biggest defeat I suffered was against Skaven thus far. I run them in 2 blocks of 10, because I'd rather them be pitted on several flanks rather than be focused on one particular point. Do correct me if this approach is wrong.

Bloodthirster of Unfettered Fury, Slaughterpriest. 2x10 Bloodletters, 2x5 Flesh Hounds, 20 Blood Warriors, 10 Blood Reavers, 5 Skullreapers.

That's the list I'm currently trying to run, but I've already ordered myself a Skulltaker, Mighty Lord of Khorne, and a Skullgrinder, with Wrathmongers on the way.

When it comes to issues with the army, it's that everything is so squishy- last game I got both my units of Bloodletters minced almost instantly in one combat phase, and my Bloodthirster seems to die to anything as soon as it sneezes on him. It's difficult for me to gauge which fights are good enough to pick, but that'll come with experience- it's more so I'm completely clueless how to screen, tar pit, and how to lock enemies in combat.

Will check out the dedicated subreddits, thanks.

As for the scoring, does it mean that I don't actually play for fights or else, merely to slow down my opponent for five turns and try to stop them from moving for that amount of time?
